New frame material makes sense. Lighter, stronger.

After we hit max aero, disc brakes, and integration, i always predicted that marketing would again return to lighter... simply because weights have been climbing.

Someone beat them to it if Trek is talking about graphene-

https://dassi.com/

Has any frame on the market cracked the 10,000 dollar mark yet? Because this next iteration from Trek is about to if the rumors are true.

trek gravel specific high volume wheelsets dropping soon

guessing it is next gen OCLV tech. i believe OCLV came out 1992?
When you say "OCLV tech", is there any Trek developed technology there? I've always thought that bike companies just marketed whatever the carbon fiber industry could supply them. They call it proprietary but mostly it's off the shelf technology.

The pic clearly hits at something woven, so it’ll probably be something like this. https://www.cxmagazine.com/eddy-merckx- ... ke-2016/15

kevlar needed to protect the carbon. that's one reason that for gravel i think titanium makes more sense

You guys are idiots. The fabric is a ruse. Sti levers were released is 1990. Its back to downtube shifters for 2020. Technology is cyclical.

OCLV was 10-15 year old, off the shelf tech. Place i was working in the mid 90's was repairing stuff that had been in service for ~15 years that had been manufactured using the same processes.

The new frame is going to incorporate a top tube that will slope directly into the bottom bracket, thus paving the way for 56cm seat posts.
