Ouch! What is the diagnostic? And how long for the recovery?

She broke her collar bone. She will be operated on thuesday. 2 month no cycling for her :-(

Somewhat off topic, but @lacoon, I’m curious... was your significant other given the opportunity to not have surgery, or was that just not even an option?

its dislocated pretty bad and broken into 3 parts :(

Yes, I know, that’s why I asked. I was in a very similar situation almost 3 years ago to the week (June 5th)...

Wishing her a speedy recovery. In my case, the first surgeon said no surgery, it will heal on its own. Didn’t seem possible to me, but who was I to argue with the surgeon. At about 7 weeks I decided to get some other opinions. But by then I had developed “frozen shoulder” and they didn’t want to risk immobilizing it any longer, so was too late basically. But in the end, I seem to be fine now, although it took much much longer to heal than it would otherwise have if they had done the surgery and plated it, at least until it healed. Like 3 months versus over a year really. Plus the toll it takes on your psyche and not being able to do much for that long is depressing.
