What was on the road?
ME!
Happened yesterday.
Shadow obscured pothole > speed hump > sandy corner... One hand got bounced off the bars(hitting. The unexpected pothole , tried to recover.. Got it back on the end of the bar as I hit the speed hump.. Pitched me forward and almost held on as I hit the sandy bit and was game over.
Landed on side/skidded on my shoulders and head.. Not pleasant.
Helmet saved me from many stitches in the noggin. Both shoulders looks like grated cheese.. Just redder.
My crash last year that ruined my shoes was also done wearing the same pair of bibs... Bad juju.
Not wearing them again..
Thanks helmet! You did well. Rest in peace/pieces.
Yes the shower was fun.. Sleep was ok.
Ibuprofen is good stuff.
New kit / helmet day soon!

Take care out there...
Work has taken me to Dallas, I get to go to all the nice places. With a free day yesterday I hired a bike, a Trek ALR from Richardson Bike Mart, and went for a ride. Not very pretty here in February, very brown, but the roads were wide and the drivers courteous. I had looked at Strava heatmap to work out what roads cyclists used and did find some very traffic free roads.

It was a nice bike. Main thing was that it was a good fit. Gears worked, brakes worked albeit LH front braking that I am not used to. 105 group. I felt at home on the bike and was able to give my attention to navigation and my surroundings. No hills but a real slog on the return leg into the wind. I picked up a faint tan line, lol.

First Zugersee, 2nd Rothenthurm. Ok, near to Zurich depends...nulldreiundreissig wrote:The view looks familiar, but I can't tell where exactly this must be. Are you still in the greater Zurich area Kingtom?
Went for a ride myself on wednesday: this on the descent from a small local climb close to Zurich (Buchenegg): It was beatiful, having my bottle half-frozen was pretty strange.
Buchenegg looks frosty
Because of the ice-bottle i take no bottle with me for a 2-3hrs ride.

How about the Camelbak Podium Ice bottles. They are 4x insulated and keep ice from melting with near 40c summer time temps here in Texas.

I've got a old insulted bottle. No idea which brand. But for 2h rides i couldn't use it. After 2hrs, the tea is so f**cking hot, you couldn't drink fromms6073 wrote:How about the Camelbak Podium Ice bottles.
