Awful, really awful. But a man has to do what a man has to do

Plenty of roads like that here in Scotland , although they do have passing places every few hundred metres. Everyone seems to manage, although German camper-vans do present a challenge.
A couple from last weeks ride on the 237-mile long Katy Trail (rail-to-trail) in Missouri following a week of record rainfall and tornados across the state. Here the wife and I heading west towards the town of Sedalia on an out-and-back ride and we are really looking forward to the return trip as the trees were really moving due to a headwind that gusting to over 20 kts most days.
Ridus interuptus along St. Louis water front on the last day of riding. There is a multi-use path under all that water - note the sign with the bicycle symbol that is barely visible above the water line? The water was 6-8 feet deep and still rising, which had resulted in the state parks department closing more than 90-miles of the trail due to high water in places were it closely parallels the Misourri River.

^Holy smokes... that definitely is a “ridus interuptus”.

Yeap. While we envy you left coast folks and you may have your fires and flash floods, gotta admit the heart land knows how to do disasters that keep on giving. I have read that with water flowing into the Osage river river from dams up North in Sourth Dakota and Iowa, the water may not fully recede for another 30-40 days.

I made a front shift, the chain went off the outside of the ring, horrible noises erupted from the back of the bike and I skidded to a halt. The chain had gone behind the cassette for some reason and locked the wheel. I was only using a mid-block gear. The front mech broke by being ripped out of its mount, the rear mech broke to protect the mech hanger. For flip's sake.
