Is today's Tour de Suisse a TdF preview? Looks like the same old, same old. Sky train on the climb. Yellow jersey in 4th position. Movistar on their wheels.

Not really, there was only two Tour GC contenders in Suisse, Geraint and Bernal, all the others were racing the Dauphiné, a few (Valverde, Uran) are doing Route d'Occitanie (formerly Route du Sud) so it was always going to be a Ineos show, even now without Geraint.

Looks strong but, is it for lack of true competition though? Tour de Suisse is a bit light on GC contenders and climbers, Bernal only put 23 seconds on Rohan Dennis and Pozzovivo had to tow him up... Disclaimer: I only saw the results, didn't watch the race.

Obviously in his first race back since his broken collarbone, he's probably not at his best yet.

Maybe. I wasn't saying that he was a lock for the Tour win. Just that it looked like a dress rehersal with the typical Ineos/Sky tactics. He rode the train and then attacked at 3km to go when there was no more train. Dennis and Pozzovivo looked much less smooth. They looked like they were struggling a bit. The commentators were surprised that Pozzovivo didn't let Dennis take the better time bonus on the line.

It will be interesting to see it play out. Tomorrow is a short TT where Dennis will have the advantage but being only 19km long, he won't be able to make up that much time. The last day has mountains but ending with a long downhill. That could potentially give Dennis a chance to catch back on even if he is dropped on the last climb.

Dennis might have to chase not once, not twice but three times sunday if Bernal and Ineos want to, it depends how the TT plays out. I don't remember how good is Bernal on a flat TT. He was Colombian ITT Champion but that doesn't mean much against Rohan Dennis.

Bernal’s TT is not terrible for a climber but Dennis will put big time in to him on Sat. Dennis was 23 seconds faster on the opening 9.5km stage so I’m not sure whether 41 seconds is enough.

Also if anyone watched the coverage for the TdS yesterday, how weird was it that there was no coverage of the peloton for the last what 5km?
This was a good 20min coverage of last 4km albeit in Basque

Today I have not seen any descent length coverage yet

Also a nice victory to boost his confidence after this time off the bike/ race.
