Take the €250k contract but request significant performance bonuses if he can deliver...
Bingo; smaller contract with bigger bonus IF he delivers.

"make your bed and sleep in it". who the f*** who hire him. NTT riding a bmc
The source explained the details behind the scenes as Dennis fought to save his contract worth €1.5 million.

Dennis met with Bahrain-Merida brass after the Tour incident and when the team agreed to keep him, he turned his back. He shopped around for new contracts with his agent in August and September, but no one was biting. When he went back to Bahrain-Merida, they said ‘no’.

The decision was sealed when Dennis rode the time trial championships on a non-team bike and with non-team kit, without even the mention of Bahrain-Merida. The source pointed out that Dennis could have won on any bike given his strength, and had he done so with Merida’s bike instead of an older BMC frame then maybe the team would not have confirmed its decision. However, on September 29, Bahrain-Merida announced it was over.

I would imagine the negative publicity accrued to the Merida brand due to the perception that Dennis walked out on his contract because he didn't want to use the bike will resonate in the minds of consumers for far longer than the positive publicity of a WC TT win would have done.
This is another thing that could come back to bite him later in some form of a lawsuit

As you said the negative publicity brought on to the brand by a employees actions could be a sizable
claim of lost income due to his actions both at the TDF & later at the WC TT

What big team these days wants a TT specialist that isn't a GC contendor?
Basically every team. But dennis' isn't a tt specialist who isn't a gc contender. Or atleast he seems to think he's one.

I said "isn't". Dennis hasn't showed much GC potential and he's not the hired gun super domestique that will sit on the front all day long for the team leader. I think it's hard to find a spot for such a specialist who is now pegged as a prima donna.

Well why would he wear Bahrain-Merida sponsored clothing? He's not on the team anymore

Not sure about Israel Academy, I saw one of their new signings for 2020 just starting to ride on a De Rosa last week, it would be odd if they weren't sticking with De Rosa to provide him one in mid-November instead of just having him riding his 2019 bikes until bikes from their 2020 bike sponsor showed up, unless he didn't want to travel with his old bikes to Girona so they gave him an old team bike in the meantime.

an UAE team staff guy answered "correct" to my tweet about Factor supplying Israel in 2020. I think the deal just came up when the team got Katusha's WT license, so they are now prepapring the 2020 bikes

Hopefully Factor can actually pay and provide what they're contracted to this time around.

It’s not uncommon to use old kit at this time of year, especially when the sponsorship deal is still in place and while the new agreement may have been signed it’s unlikely they have been supplied with kit yet.

Maybe the rider was left without a bike from previous team and they gave him whatever they had.
No biggie.

Factor as supplier has been confirmed by a future ICA rider (currently Katusha) some weeks ago. The other supplier will be Shimano.

I always thought that'd be the best fit for him. He likes Kask, he likes Pro wheels and Castelli skinsuits are no slouch.

In return for being INEOS's super domestique on the flats (akin to T. Martin at Jumbo) I'm sure they'd give him quite a free rein in other events. INEOS also seem to be struggling in the TTT/ITTs recently too.
