Yeah, they changed the tube shapes, the layup, the geometry, the BB, the cable routing, the clearances, the seatpost, the size specific design... but it's still the same bike! Hang on... which bit of it is the same bike?

The silhouette mainly.

Right... Hands up who except Tobin thinks a silhouette defines the design of a bike?

By the same metrics you could say the something like the Tarmac was the same bike from 2007 to 2017, but I'd strongly disagree with that too.

I didn’t say a bike is defined by its silhouette, but that’s how most bikes are displayed/photographed and remembered.

Anyway I can easily differentiate an SL4 and SL5, but have to look a little more closely at a 2011-2015 SSix vs a 2016-.

But really. Nothing looks better than a real casquette.
