The hate is towards the behaviour not a team or rider.
Same thing will happen if jumbo/lotto/Ef did the same.. I would hazard a bigger storm if ineos did it.

This team sees their rival team crash badly with 100kms to go and only 1 more stage to go after that (flat) day.. Goes and attacks.. Uci/race officials wasn't happy with them.. And towed the peleton back.

Then this team claims it was always their plan and they didn't know how bad the crash was. Claims they were all at the front.

Plenty of evidence emerge that they were not in front.. Saw the crash and decided to attack.

Offer half assed apology.

Wouldn't be at all be surprised if race officials threatened to neutralise the stage until peleton was back together.. If they didn't tow them back.. Which was the less disruptive of the two actions.

Cycling as a sport is still got an aspect ruthless underhanded tactics isn't tolerated. I like that about pro racing. Otherwise where does it end?

Leader has pee break.. Every other GC teams attacks?
Do we want 150 urine soaked riders at the finish everyday?

Sacrifice one rider in your team to shunt the gc leader into a ditch?

Fair enough. But i think its very convenient for ppl on this board to have such negative response when it’s Movistar or Valverde.

Agree 100%.

Lame excuse of about to attack was a weak as pi$$.

Lopez summary was right. Shouldn’t have apologised

He has had a rough run of Grand Tours for some time. Getting disqualified from the Tour and now this. If I remember correctly, he had to retire from 2018 Tour or Vuelta during the race's last week as well.

Too bad to perform so well and do so much work for the team, and not get to complete the race.

Was that an Ineos rider descending rather gingerly in the wet with howling rim brakes at the 138km to go mark :o

aside from the Movistar polemic, the stage yesterday was a nail biter. That drag up to the finish was seriously difficult, what an amazing ride by Cavagna, as well as Bennet. Was seriously rooting for Craddock to make the junction since he's been in the mix so many times this Vuelta, but knew it wasn't going to happen, Cavagna was just too strong.

Man, there are a LOT of people moving UP and DOWN the GC today.

I haven't seen Dylan Teuns in frame in quite some time now; he's back on but yo-yo-ing with 35km to go. James Knox was looking rough, too. Nieve and Fuglsang, cooked.

Also, the announcers just said something about the "Movistar Cup", which I believe was a reference to the CyclingTips mockery of Movistar's multi-pronged "tactics" in GTs.

The same when US Postal when Zulle in Tour 1999 fell in Gois.
Or when Sky in Vuelta 2012 and Katusha and Valverde fell because a Sky rider.

Serious lack of class from Movistar.
You don´t stop riding when you get old, you get old when you stop riding.

You do realise I’d say the same about any team.

Stop defining yourself by being a fan. Open your eyes.

damn, Pogacar's Vuelta tops everything anyone has achieved in a GT in recent years. this kid's on fire, practically no support, all odds against him, but he still just attacks and rides off, leaving the best riders in the world helpless. today's attack was by far the most daring, exciting and in the end profitable move I can think of, scoring both a podium spot and a white jersey - how often do we see that! looks like he's got a very, very bright future ahead of him

Turns out Brailsford has been suffering from prostate cancer and has just had surgery. Wish him the best.

Could this be the reason for INEOS' surprising downturn in form recently? Bernal and Thomas aside a lot of riders seem lost in the dark.
