WvA always trains on alu zipp wheels, so does thomas de gend and many others here in Belgium.
Yeah, I was only talking about racing. I don't think it's news to anyone that pro's don't all train through the winter on carbon rims, is it? :noidea:

Anyone watching the tour of colombia?

Stage 3 was probably one of the most chaotic sprints I have seen in the pro peloton. Speed bumps 300m from the finish, no organized leadout from any team. It was pretty cool to see some of the lesser known pro conti teams like team illuminate out there

I like that some of these flyaway races that have TTT's insist on them being ridden on regular road bikes. It's a throwback to the old days. I would love to see one of the grand tours do the same. Allow the TT bikes for individual TT's but specify that road bikes in road race spec be used in the TTT.

Heck even an ITT ridden on road spec bikes once in a while would be interesting too.
Make them all Merckx TTs, leave the funnybikes to the tri-geeks. Makes it easier for everyone involved.

Looks like there isn’t an elegant solution for the pioneer computer on a Vision barstem so he botched it.

Got to be sponsor compliant with the Jumbo boys. I see he has an old Red Bull liveried bottle there - that'll go the way of the dodo too I would think.

He’s definitely not the “gold standard” by which all pro training bikes should be judged. That thing is a disgrace

Alloy rims, the horror!!

That's not the bike he's actually riding during training, it was some round tube frame. It looked cheap. And I cannot remember him training on carbon wheels until he showed up with the first Campy disc prototypes.

It's a tool to get the job done.

Joe Dombrowski's winter bike when he joined Sky is still one of my favourites.

Particularly like the small team mechanic attached to the front spokes.
