This Sunday the Swiss approved by 73.6% a constitutional article that gives cycling paths the same status as hiking paths. The confederation will be able to set standards, etc, in this area, and take whatever measures. Considering that hikng is the national pastime, it's a big deal.

When I rode around lac Leman this summer, the Swiss seemed to be very friendly towards cyclists, but I did notice a relative lack of cycling paths. So congrats! :)

there should be a Swiss refugee programme for those who feel their countries limit their cycling experience. I'd apply!
