Hi,

I am heading to Bali for 2 weeks in August and would like to do 4-5 days' riding based out of Amed and Ubud. I'd like to hire a decent carbon road bike if possible. Can anyone recommend where to hire a bike, and some riding routes? I'm looking at balibikehire.com for the rental. In terms of riding, among other rides I'm aiming to do Mt Agung, inspired by this: https://cyclingtips.com/2016/10/roadtripping-bali/

Cheers!

Good morning from Ubud, Bali!
You should rethink the plan regarding Mt. Agung. It is currently erupting, with the immediate area blanketed in volcanic ash. There are MANY beautiful routes otherwise. As for a bike rental I don't think you will find quality carbon available, but try this company (I am not affiliated); www.baliroadbike.com

If you speak Indonesian, have a look at our forum; www.cycling-id.com

Feel free to PM me.

Best Regards,

I just got back. Awesome week. No bike action though.

Enjoy the bulk massages haha. Saw Mt. Agung! From the ocean, km's away on a boat trip. Was above the clouds!

And yes, 4km exclusion zone in effect. So you're not going to get near it.
It's all about the adventure :o .
