While the name doesn’t have the cache of the premium brands, my Motobecane has been one of the best bikes I have owned in the last few years. This one is 5 years old now, but still looks and rides as good as it did on day one. I like it so much that I kept it over a Seven.

Here it is in gravel mode; long reach brakes allow using up to 40 mm tires. My only gripe is that the frame is not disc compatible.

was this bike similar to the weight quoted by bikes direct?

I used to have a 23 lb (50cm) 520 steel Italian built frame I do not want to buy a similarly weighted bike but pay probably $2000 more

Mine weighs 9.2 kg as shown in its gravel configuration. That is with relatively heavy wheels (over 1,700 g). With road wheels and tires, it is around 8.5 kg if I remember correctly.

Ti disc gravel frame with the lauf grit fork, does everything decently but admitted nothing spectacularly (except absolutely shredding gravel)

Moots Vamoots RSL with DA Di2 and Ritchey WCS carbon finishing kit.

(This question allows for 3 sets of wheels, right?)
It's ALL about the bike.

It's my own design, I call it the Heretic CL2, intended to be a true do-it-all bike.
