Whatever the Astana situation was, it did good for the team. I first pinched myself to see Astana got 3 guys in the final, and thought i was dreaming when they won Omloop. Very Quickstep like. I like this new Astana emergence. They don't need Aru and Nibali.

That's a bit strange from Stybar. I mean on the heli shot with 2.6km to go it's clear to see that they are very close. Surely he looks back sometimes just like I would? I hope he does not rely on radio only. Valgred gained a lot of distance in very short time, so the chasers must have ridden quite slow.

Isn't it the ASO who objects against any sort of change more then the UCI does? They profit the most from the current state of cycling.

Sorry- “race organisers” refers to ASO, RCS etc. I’m surprised we don’t see the teams organise and threaten a boycot if they don’t see a greater share of TV rights, advertising and associated revenue. At the end of the day they’re taking the risk, if the return isn’t there it makes no sense to continue.

I think Inring did a post on this a while ago showing that the likely impact of revenue sharing would not materially boost team budgets.....i simply think there are too many races and too many teams chasing too few sponsorship $.

So Wiggins has a press conference talking about his team, and how they "got rid of the dead wood". Nice way to throw former team members/riders under the bus. And he promises to talk about the "Jiffy Bag" incident "very soon". I think the boy is starting to crack, he sounds like Trump.

lol wiggins was throwing SO MUCH SHADE in that presentation. I loved it but also hated it.

He said both comments jokingly with a smile and even the audience laughed.. funny how the articles on CyclingNews and all that make it sound like he was going after Sky. The "deadwood" comment was about guys like Phil Hine who didn't even race for the team.

Yeah, that's just bad journalism. He also said something about kicking his friends off the team. He obviously didn't mean getting rid of poor performing riders - which, of course, every team does every single year. It's not even news.

idk about the details with the road bike yesterday but yeah the shifter supposedly failed on the TT bike, they thought it was the RD because it happened in the recon but it was the shifter. In any case, Dumoulin is kind of a big baby (like when he cried about Quintana & Nibali trying to make him do work and said he'd like them to lose their positions lol).. I know we've seen Wiggo and others do a bike toss but the way Dumoulin did it looked more like a child tantrum than a pissed off adult man
