So long Tom Domoulin; Yates is clearly on another level.

The way Yates is climbing, Domoulin is going to need to put 4 min on him in the TT to have a chance at the pink jersey.

Yates is a great climber but the field is he riding against are not. missing is sky wonder boy Bernal, movistar Launda/Quintano, Nibali and Porte. Froome is a spent force he will be going on forced holidays for the next 1-2 years. time will tell if Yates can compete with the A-class.
Current Rides:

2023 Tarmac SL7 Di2 9270
ex 2019 S-works SL6
ex 2018 Trek Madone SLR Disc
ex 2016 Giant TCRAdvanced Sl
ex 2012 Trek Madone7

We might actually have an exciting Tour this year with all these guys being Giro tired and the other contendors showing up fresh.

Give the lad some credit. You can only beat those on the road with you.

How can 1 rider dominate nearly every mountainstage like this? Almost Pantani like.
Or Contador before his ‘steak’ or like Landis or Rasmussen....
I really, really do hope he’s riding clean.

why do you think he is doping. i doubt Yates can ride away from on form quitana or launda. ritchey porte is a equal to yates in climbing prowess.the real question mark is how Fabio Aru without Astana's doctors has been riding like a shadow of his old good days.

I don’t know if he is. But usually when things are to good te be true..... and again, I really really hope he’s not! I like the way the Giro is this year.

Assume they all are and you won’t be disappointed. Seriously, stop worrying about whether somebody is clean or not and just enjoy the show.

His team speaks in his favor and he always been there fighting for the white jersey. With that in mind it’s not a surprise or suspiciois. But a dominance like this is very rare, it’s hard to point out why.

At this moment it looks like the competition simply isn’t delivering. There are less TT km’s than last year yet Dumoulin is still 2nd. Dumoulin preforms as is expected with so many mountaintop finishes, but, I expected more of Pinot, Pozzovivi and Froome (whole Sky).

Good show today. That last descent was phenomenal, like the Cipressa or something out of Il Lombardia. Splendid stuff!
Bianchi-Campagnolo
The Specialissima
Gylne Gutuer, the UCI 1.2 bike race I invented.

Yates was pure class today. Rolled the dice from 15km and came out on top. Dumoulin let himself get frustrated and lost control of the situation, IMO. When you've got a group of 5 GC contenders chasing a lone leader and Pinot is on the front through the lacets and technical sections then you know something has gone wrong.

Surely if Dumoulin had taken responsibility on the downhill and flat sections he could have kept the gap in check, and he didn't really need to worry if that meant the others would get a jump on him when it kicked up again. As it was Yates basically out TTed him today :P

Yep, Yates 2018 is certainly the same as Contador 2011 - who savaged the entire peloton up Etna. Solo.

Spare me.
Do you still think the same? ;)
