^Wookski, you need an eye check. :D
Yes!!!

Yates is not my favourite rider and I was almost certain he’d choke but he didn’t. What a brave effort after falling short at the Giro. Big relief for Whitie to bag a GT. Now it’s time for a new bike/ helmet/ glasses sponsor!
Scott has a contract for 2019 too.

Just like when we look back at the 80s, when they look back at the 2018 season, there'll be chortles aplenty about the big helmet/big glasses look.

I’ve go no issue with the big glasses/ helmet look, Scott’s styling is just so nasty

Big glasses, big helmet, non aero frame, no discs. Back to the future?

BTW this year's Vuelta top ten will much probably be:
1 YATES, Simon (non aero frame, rim brakes)
2 MAS NICOLAU, Enric (non aero frame, rim brakes)
3 LOPEZ MORENO, Miguel Angel (non aero frame, rim brakes)
4 KRUIJSWIJK, Steven (semi aero frame, rim brakes)
5 VALVERDE, Alejandro (non aero frame, rim brakes)
6 PINOT, Thibaut (non aero frame, rim brakes)
7 URAN, Rigoberto (non aero frame, rim brakes)
8 QUINTANA, Nairo (non aero frame, rim brakes)
9 IZAGIRRE INSAUSTI, Ion (non aero frame, rim brakes)
10 KELDERMAN, Wilco (non aero frame, rim brakes)

In the shadow of the Vuelta, women's World hour record was beaten by 27 meters a few days ago:

with most of time differences being made in the mountains, and the flats being ridden in the group, an aero frame probably isn't that much needed by the GC guys. as for lack of discs brakes, I can only say this -

Aero frames offer an advantage in the group and on the mountains too. "Free" watts you know (according to the manufacturers). 8)

Richard Carapaz in 4th at the Giro was Movistar's best GT GC result this year.

Think about that.

But together with Sunweb and LottoNL the only team to get someone in the top 10 in every GT.

they probably do but the main difference IMHO is how they react when you accelerate - light, "climbing" frames give you that special 'kick' composed aero rigs often don't. although for my taste an Aeroad is just fine in that department, and supposedly the new Madone SLR is even better. most likely it's just a question of personal preference - some like their bikes jumping beneath them like crazy, some appreciate some more composure and stability. if I rode more in the mountains, I'd never get an aero frame. but since I only spend there like 3-4 weeks per year, I don't feel the need of getting a 'climbing bike' - besides those differences aren't probably that noticeable unless you're actually racing

Still I can't see why Yates brothers did not ride the Foil. Light enough, comfortable enough, and faster (aero). And the new systemsix? Will the riders ignore it like they ignored the venge vias? What about Valverde - Quintana and the Aeroad?
I am always very sceptical against any claims related to aero gains but even I cannot understand how not even one team can persuade its top riders to ride an aero frame. Even just for marketing reasons...

Bad rear brake. The disc version is most likely "too heavy".

I'm thinking we (as the fans) underestimate the importance of an mechanically simple bike to the professional rider. Not all of them are technically very knowledgeable, and I'd always trust my life and income on a tool I can understand.

While none of the current GC prospects ride an all-out aero bike, IIRC Joaquim Rodriguez always rode the Aeroad. I think his lieutenant Dani Moreno did as well in his Katusha days.

The f10 is semi aero, Sky boys seem to do fine on it. Not as aero as a Venge but no doubt “better” than a “climbers bike”
