I couldn't agree more. And he has zero chance of getting close to the podium. Zero. What is it with some of these guys? Grewal, Mario, etc. They had a great time and they shined brightly. But's it gone. Forever. Now move along like everyone else.AJS914 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 18, 2018 7:05 pmSlow news day I guess:

An old geezer who has zero chance of winning shouldn't take some other rider's spot. He should just do the fondo and look back fondly at his EPO fueled win.

Colnago e Campagnolo
It’s up to the teams, if he can get a licence and someone wants to give him a shot then good luck to him. What’s with the hate?

Tony Martin moves to NL Jumbo for the 2019 and 2020 seasons. I'm hoping for a somewhat return to form for Tony, he may be abit too far gone though as he is not getting any younger and he probably will never be able to reach his Quickstep/Shiv level of power again.
His form seemed to deminish since joining with Katusha but I wonder if the Bianchi TT bikes will suit him better than the Canyon did. The Aquila's are certainly a very pretty looking bike.

124 days, that's pretty quick. What's the men's unsupported record? It must be similar or even longer seeing as when Mark Beaumont did it (supported) in 78 days the record he broke was 123 days, but I'm not sure if that was supported or unsupported.kbbpll wrote: ↑Mon Oct 22, 2018 12:39 amThis woman. Hard to decipher but a list is here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Around_th ... ing_record. Looks like officially "Former speedskater Andrew Nicholson (New Zealand) completed an unsupported cirmumnavigation in 123 days and 43 minutes." but it also sounds like Mike Hall got screwed - "On 4 June 2012, Mike Hall completed his circumnavigation in 91 days 18 hours. His ride was totally unsupported. After the ride, Guinness World Records changed the rules to include total travel time. Under the new rules Hall recorded a time of 107 days 2 hours 30 minutes, which was not ratified by Guinness World Records."themidge wrote: ↑Mon Oct 22, 2018 10:40 am124 days, that's pretty quick. Apparently it's a new frame with internal cablerouting from Eddy Merckx company that will only be available june 2019 whent the Tour starts in Brussels to honour Eddy Merckx.
The postion of the shifters is very strange.
The Deda Alanera handlebar must be a new 2019-2020 model as the current model which looks 100% the same is not made for internal cablerouting.
The complete bike also seems a strangs combination of components.
Rotor cranks while normalle Campagnolo doe snot allow their sponsored teams to not use the Campagnolo cranks, same remark goes for the wheels and chain. This seems like a KMC chain but as fas as I know KMC does not have a 12spd road chain (they do offe rnow a 12spd eagle compatible chain)
I've rea don cyclingnew the goup was not yet decided. So they could still change to shimano maybe..which I do not hope as I personally like to see more Campagnolo in the pro peloton.

That Merckx 525 is a stark reminder of how elegant those Factor frames are.
As for the group set I suppose Campag does not forbid teams to buy their components. Across the peloton teams on group set sponsorship typically are on full Campag, Shimano or SRAM+Zipp, whereas mix and match teams typically do not have a group set sponsor.
