“Aru penalised 20 seconds for drafting, Ulissi & Conti two minutes. Cavagna, Pedersen, Hermans 30 seconds.“
Anyone got a gif of Tony Martin’s face when Aru crossed the line? :p
Edit: For those who missed Tony Martin's reaction: https://twitter.com/mrconde/status/998932734444736512

There was some talk earlier about Yates' Addict.... here's a bunch of pictures up close.

but the double aero bottles inside his tiny frame made a nice fairing "effect". If it was Sky, their narrative whould have labelled this #marginalgain

Does anyone know what hub internals the PRO disc wheels are built around? I assumed it would be Shimano hub internals but, watching a short clip of Dumoulin rolling around before the start today, his freehub was way louder than any Shimano road hub I've ever heard.

IMO, freehub volume is largely dependant on the grease or lubrication in place and I'd guess that his mechanics have that wheel set up with very little in place so here's nothing slowing those bearings down... which would make it louder. Keep in mindthat the disc itself also tends to amplify the sound of the freehub.BdaGhisallo wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 7:33 pmDoes anyone know what hub internals the PRO disc wheels are built around? Man that’s one ugly piece of crap! MS definitely not concerned about style.CrankAddictsRich wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 6:33 pmThere was some talk earlier about Yates' Addict.... here's a bunch of pictures up close.

Speaking of 'marginal gains'.
Mast year everybdy was on the TT suit of team Sky with the dotted arms.
Remember? this year they are riding the same but apparently it'sno big deal anymore.
Take a closer look at the bike of Pozzovivo during yesterdays TT.
Was he so thursty he neede 2 big flat aero bottle in the 30km tt?
I bet there is nothing inside them but I'm sure they provide an aero advantage with such a small frame.

Well, it might have helped froome to lose 30seconds less, but as he wasn't winning, I think it's quite understandable that's it's "no big deal anymore".

Honestly they just look like they would add more turbulence and drag with any kind of yaw involved.bruno2000 wrote:Speaking of 'marginal gains'.

Turbulent flow is associated with reduced drag, it is the reason golf balls and wheels have dimples so that there is an edge at 90 degrees to incident airflow to cause laminar to turbulent conversion.Nefarious86 wrote: ↑Wed May 23, 2018 10:03 amHonestly they just look like they would add more turbulence and drag with any kind of yaw involved.
