When the players get the Stanley Cup for a day (Ice Hockey), is that the actual cup or a replica?

It’s the real deal. Ovechkin got quite a bit of heat for his treatment of it over the summer.

I’m so pumped hockey talk made it into the pro cycling thread. 2 greatest sports on earth.

That Canyon made me think of another botched job.

But the bike was nice, Moreno.

Nice to see Canyon got out the rattle cans. That is, quite frankly, terrible.
+Lots ! I think the only good thing about it is they didn't do the whole bike like that.

Argentin's WC kit was pretty horrible, wasn't it. He was the first one to start 'experimenting' with the WC jersey and the first to use anything other than team issue bibs with his WC jersey.

Italian races don't seem to have got the memo about the craze on the motos. Noticed their crazy riding style on all the races this week.

Great ride by 2 guys who come from pretty far after early season illness for Pinot after the Giro and the crash of Nibali in the TDF. Might add Bernal to that list who blew himself up to close that gap to Pinot, Nibali and Roglic. Also shows Nibali's willpower to get caught and immediately attack again.

Those motos encourage attacks, aren't they?
But the most crazy thing was the bottleneck on the top of the climb.
Fist you have the impression that the cars are parked badly, but it was actually the team helpers with their bidons who were stanindg in the middle of the road. Are they all italians? ;)

Pinot has a very unusual climbing style.

He looks like he’s approaching his limit, then sprints, then sits down. Repeat.

Fans staying in middle of road because of the team staff, and team staff trying to stay in front of them and there you go, idiotic situation which luckily didn't have any bad situation beside the Bardet one (camera string again).

While proper racing was going on by Lake Como, EBH as usual participated at Superpokal in Oslo.

I thought Pinot was a well deserving winner to Lombardia at the weekend.. Thibaut Pinot always seems to confuse me a bit, he's entertaining as a bike rider, but why isn't he held in the same esteem as Bardet for example?
Everyone loves Bardet, but when it comes to Pinot, it just seems a bit 'yeah.. it's Pinot, meh'.. is it simply that he's 28 and hasn't lived to up his past hype what am I missing?

I think it is because he prefers racing in Italy instead of France. And the french do not like that at all.

But both are attacking riders so I am a bit of a fan.

I for one don't love Bardet  not only does he look weird with those kid-like skinny legs, his more hyped despite being less successful. perhaps people tend to value both of them through their TdF performances, which is why Bardet comes on top. but all in all, if I were a team manager, I'd rather have Pinot on my roster.

I noticed this as well. I wonder if it is a deliberate ploy as he seems (to me) to do the sprint bit when he has rounded a corner. It makes me think he is deliberately doing it when he thinks he is out of sight of the other riders and can get a small advantage as they can't react.

Or I might be talking rubbish :-)
