Great to see Marianne back to winning ways

Rivera's Sunweb national champ jersey sucks, what a shame
I think it looks good... at least as far as US champs jerseys go. I rarely think the US champ jersey looks good. I just think its a lot going on in terms of colors, stars, stripes etc to have to blend in with team jerseys and make look good. The countries that have simpler flags always seem to have better looking national champs jerseys IMO.
It needs to stand out. The stripes are not thick enough and the blue stars part has no contrast with the sleeves so it gets lost.. Jeremy Powers 2016 cross national champ Rapha jersey is the best I think. The overall design on Rosskopf's skinsuit is close but the obnoxious sponsor logos get in the way and there's are no solid, segmented sections

Micro stars on the sleeves, top half solid blue, bottom half stripes all the way around. Keep it simple and classic.
It's better than any other Sunweb national champ jersey. She's lucky she get's that much room because all others are minimalized champion jerseys. Like Sinkeldam last year

Very sad indeed, both Rivera's and Sinkeldam's.

Funny thing is I could live fine with Nibali (Astana) and Aru's (UAE) wraparound tricolore bands. Stake Laengen's Norwegian wraparound flag not so much.

It depends also on how much "power" the single rider has inside the team.

Zottegem winner Jérôme Baugnies, congrats. Which shoes is he wearing?

They look like white SWorks 7 shoes... The silver boa dials and the zig-zag cutout of the two uppers over the tounge are the giveaway.

Yeah Sunweb sucks at this, but the original UAE design for Aru was equally as bad.

If only more team management could be like Marc Madiot of Groupama-FDJ and insist upon the traditional designs for the national champions on his team. That would truly make the world a better place.

Do they not have team socks with sponsors?

Viviani easily beating Démare in Hamburg, while Kristoff can't even stay on his wheel and other sprinters are distanced (Démare even freewheeling at the end ) :

He's the best sprinter this year with something like 15 wins , mostly in big races.
A little bit surprising because before this season he had few big wins, and at Doha's world I think the protected Italian sprinter was Nizzolo.
I'm not even sure he had many offers for this year and if Coquard was not the first choice for QS.
May be he focused more on track racing before 2016 ?
But he's still good on the track, he just won the european team pursuit and was second in the omnium (after making a mistake during the point race).

Démare in disbelief:

I care; The Norwegian Conti teams are a whole lot better coordinated than that, and tall black socks is so LA.

Bleh I'm pretty sick of the Wiggo shaming, especially Joe-nobodies directly trolling him on the internet. A one off of triamcinolone is no where near the same ball park as blood infusions and the like. Coincidentally, my partner (non-cyclist) recently got prescribed triamcinolone to treat allergic skin rash, it's not a super rare thing that gives you 100 watts out of the blue. The same people who are doing this haven't even looked at the actual TUE document where it references endoscopy and RAST tests.. ugh.
I know the doping discussions are strictly forbidden in this thread, but i'm pretty sick of these comments. I'm not in favor of trolling/shaming Wiggo - he won a TDF - but I'm certainly not in favor of pretending he is a "one off triamcinolone" TDF winner. Like all other TDF winners of his generation...he started his career on a team full of dopers and ended it on a team full of dopers.

He's been around during the full spectrum of doping in the peloton, from blood doping/EPO to CERA to Clen to corticosteroid abuse and all the shit we don't know about. He also has publicly commented that the guys at Team Sky are shitting bricks because the truth is almost out - which means deep down he knows what that shit is and just doesn't care what it means to him - even LA reached this point in his interview with Oprah.

He doesn't need to be crucified but he doesn't need to be considered "one off triamcinolone" TDF winner either.

He was at Team Sky before this year. They have no sprint train at all. Closest thing I've seen from them was Wiggo on the Champs in 2012.

But seriously of course he was going to crush it at QS...just ask Gilbert. Racing on a Belgian team and on a team without GC ambitions greatly increases your win rate.

Any predictions for the Vuelta??? I am REALLY hoping Porte can manage 3 weeks without any crashed or illness, I want to see him at his best, but it seems like he just cant get any luck in a GT. Who is going to be the GC leader for Sky?

Kwiatkowski.

And, I doubt Porte can hold it together for three weeks. I’d love to be proven wrong. But I just don’t see it happening. I’d be ecstatic if the dude finishes the race.
