and if someone tried to speak their mind freely, like Bennett, they were forced to apologize shortly after.
The Landis comment? I haven't seen Bennett apologise for it. He came out the next day and criticised people for assuming he meant Froome was doping like Landis, but certainly no apology :noidea:

Can I go back to talking about pro bikes, and change for change's sake being marketed as "innovation" ?
Nevermind... :)
you mean UCI's official decision approving discs, which came as such a huge suprise the industry got caught off guard and now they'll have to rush developing disc road line-up to meet the new rules?

Tech is much more exciting, carry on! Looking forward to the Tour as well, I hope Yates does well.

IMHO one of the best bikes ever made. notice how by today's standards nothing fits the rest - silver seatpost, white saddle and tape (wtf), front silver (!) Ksyrium (so unaero!!) - if anyone showed up on that bike on any given group ride, he would've been eaten alive by all the pinalawyers and dudes in rapha.

also, I kinda miss the times of big gear suprises at Tour, some tweaks and tricks (like famous downtube shifter for Lance) and the general attitude towards equipment that made pros ride what works, no drama about petty things like looks or anything like that.

Ha. I was at Le Tour when Lance TT’d up Alpe d’Huez with the one downtube shifter. 2004 I believe. I was more interested in Sheryl Crow than Lance to be honest. It’s a fun tour.

Speaking of Orbea.

One could argue that paying real attention to carbon frame design began with the 2007 Orbea Orca.

It is, in my opinion, still one of the best looking frames ever made. In black and white, naturally.

Agreed. Nobody pays attention to this except Orbea fans.
