FYI: The UCI has rules which are neither Italian, Spanish, French, Belgian, Dutch etc.....even if sometimes (ha ha) some president have been inclined to favorite their own country....
FYI, go check out Maq's recent posts on the UCI presidency and see if you think he knows that
Could you elaborate on that?
Who is Maq?

Pinot just quitted the Giro as he went to the hospital being too much dehydrated and having fever. His DS said he went over his limits and was more than exhausted. Too bad for him but he showed a great performance and great fighting spirit.

Indeed he did. Nice to see one Frenchman whos doing his job to the best of his ability, even if David Lappartient cant/wont.

I suggest both of you cut the slinging match and play nice before you both take a vacation.

Pardon me but I haven't said anything unkind about him nor do I immediately seize upon and try to dissect his every comment that he posts.

Feel free to examine our respective posting histories and see who is the one not 'playing nice'.

You're just such a fascinating guy :beerchug:

But seriously, have you made any re-assessment of "man of action" Lappartient given what he has achieved the Froome situation? Meaning, exactly the same amount Cookson would have achieved...

What has Lappartient to do with doping cases?
He should have nothing to do with them...

A pity I didn’t get to see yesterday’s stage. Stuff of legend.
What drug makes you a better descender? Not Salbutamol, that’s for sure.
Bianchi-Campagnolo
The Specialissima
Gylne Gutuer, the UCI 1.2 bike race I invented.

Again play nice and stop cloging up threads with the bickering or it's a week for both of you, it's getting tiresome.

I am definitely not a fan of Froome but he definitely improves a lot on descending. I like that he tries to improve wherever he has some deficiencies.

He doesn't, and neither did the last guy. That's my point.

The improvement in Froome's descending since his first Tour win has been something else. Looked a little more in control yesterday than he sometimes does too - Thomas said after the first toptube-pedalling attack at TdF that Froome was the craziest guy in the team when they were descending at training camps.

But - the big time gain yesterday wasn't because he could go faster, but because Dumoulin chose to wait. Remember that Dumoulin descended the Stelvio even faster than Nibali when he was chasing on his own last year (including the pedally bit before the middle switchbacks I suppose, but still). Hindsight and all, but if he'd gone alone yesterday I doubt he'd have hit the start of Sestriere any further back than he was at the top of the Finestre.

Froome is using a fizik antares saddle

What is that? Doesn't look like anything Fizik produce currently.

Yes, the shape of the cutout at the back gives it away. That's definitely a Power.

Was the saddle change because

1) Froome doesn't like the new Fiziks,
2) Froome likes the new saddle more,
3) Fizik doesn't want Froome on their saddles (what do the rest of the team ride?),
4) <insert new manufacturer> paid Sky/Froome more than what Fizik can?
