2018 on the Road Today.

It’s very close to the other ones, the hillside town is called Ranzo.
I just did it on its own as an easy day, but where you access it from would make it easy to tag it onto a longer ride that passes through the Sarca valley.
Here’s one from today, towards the top of the monte Baldo road where it peeks over onto Lago di Garda

Like your Peugeot, I'm in the process of renovating an '87 Aravis. Looks like Stronglight chainset and Simplex gears? Very nice, classic!Ruimteaapjes wrote: ↑Sun Apr 29, 2018 7:32 pmEnjoyed the ride in the east of The Netherlands despite three flat tires...

Spot on though the cranks are "Peugeot" labeled they were made by Stronglight. The derailleurs are Simplex Super LJ (upgraded from Peugeot-labeled basic Simplex mechs) and the brakes are Spidel (upgrade from basic Weinmanns). Bar-end shifters are Suntour. Looking forward to pics of your Aravis (I'm currently rebuilding a 1990 Altus)liam7020 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 30, 2018 8:13 amLike your Peugeot, I'm in the process of renovating an '87 Aravis. Great pics in this thread, makes me a little jealous given that Toronto isn’t the most scenic cycling city
Finally spring temps so needed to ride rain or shine.

Thanks, that means a lot from someone who evidently has amazing views to enjoy every single day
Here's one from the early slopes of Monte Bondone that shows the balcony road to Ranzo traversing along in the right of the picture. The view from the hike/climb/scramble to the top of the cliff of Pisetta (the outcrop in the centre left) is also absolutely stunning if anyone's interested in a non-bike picture?
When I watched the Monte Bondone stage of the Tour of the Alps last year I didn't think much of it, but I actually really enjoyed riding it. Maybe because my legs were tired and there wasn't much over 8% in contrast to the multiple sections in the teens of most other climbs around there but in places the views were excellent.
From just over the top looking over the Trentino valley towards the true Dolomites;
Near the bottom of the way down towards Aldeno (in future I'd do it the other way round and descend to Trento and climb from Aldeno - the top section of this descent is dark, narrow and steep with random sections of atrocious surface in the corners) this view takes in a fair bit of the first half of the Giro TT this year. It's gonna be FAST
Starting the climb out of Trento;
Gratuitous hairpin shot of Trento and the valley/mountain contrast;
Starting the descent back down to the Sarca valley (North Garda) side;
If anyone can't tell by now, I'm a big fan of places where the view is framed like a window, so for no other reason here's one from a tiny little side road (with a damn steep climb onto it from either side, but particularly Arco) that runs along the central part of the Sarca valley.
I don't think anyone is complaining about your pictures. That is, other than the severe pangs of envy they elicit in the viewer.
