Yesterday was the last warm day of autumn.
I rode from Montreux to col de Chaude, Sonchaux, les Avants, Alliaz, col de Belle-Chaux, and back down to vevey.

25 hours of lunacy riding in circles!

How'd you get on?

My boys came 8th. Went to cheer them on for a bit but was too cold and I had to get to a coffee shop...

They're trying to get me to enter with them next year, but pretty certain I'd rather pull my toenails off with pliers.

We were 1 of maybe a dozen teams that were there for the laugh/experience and it showed. 185th out of 190 teams!

Was an interesting experience as i've never done anything remotely 'road racing' before. Only ever done TT's or Triathlons so to see the speed they fast guys go at is incredible!

I knew I was nothing special on a bike but could at least knock out 20+mph rides given a flat enough course. When the briefing said the first 2 laps would be steady behind a motorbike as a kind of nuetral start I thought okay this'll be fun. The gun went off and I immediatly got spat out the back as did about 140 other riders! I did my first lap averaging 26mph and couldnt even see the front group after about 1/2 a mile!! absolutely mental how fast they were going!

Loved it except the cold though. I've done similar race formats but as running events so I like the race format alot.
