Too much to do. Only one short ride this weekend. And that in the dark... ImageImage

Took my tarmac off tarmac for 10km during my ride today.

28mm turbo cottons with some air let out performed well on the gentle Lady Carrington drive.
My pedals and cleats arent the speedplays ive used for the last few years so bit of dirt isn't a problem.

Quite a few mtb passed me going the other way with a smug "good luck"... Thanks guys! Image

Good spot for a break:

And looking down on that spot from above:

Hope one day to be able to get a sealed cycle route up this valley as an alternative to our dangerous Dyers Pass Road access to the Port Hills... would be spectacular if we can pull it off:

Image Not really

The south part of Switzerland, calling Tessin. Just 2h to drive with the car from my home. The weather during winter is much cycling friendly then here. Also when we have deep winter here, there you can ride at +10°

Often more then worth to ride these 2hrs... Image

Morning commute with a high climb to the top of Mt Victoria above Wellington this morning. Felt pretty crappy but it’s going to be a stunning day out #youcantbeatwellingtononagoodday ImageImage

Winter, when you try to escape the fog and cold, but at some point you must go back.
Hate it.

Finally finished (mostly) work for the year, so now just need some good weather to get in some decent k's and verts. Bottom of the harbour yesterday:

And a non pano snap from the same spot:

Here's the western approach to the start of one of the most popular climbs around here. When I say popular, the part above this section is known as "The Basta_rd" so maybe popular is a relative term after all. Can you spot the rider?

Merry Christmas to all Weight Weenies around the world.

May your bikes get lighter by an amount equivalent to every piece of Christmas cake consumed and may your tyres stick like glue (to keep you safe) yet roll like Santa's sleigh across the snow (to keep you fast). :beerchug:
