In the Berner Oberland
Bönigen, near lake Brienz
Grosse Scheidegg (I always stop at that spot in awe)
GS road, view West
nice dirt road above the col
Grindelwald glacier
bike route 64 to Kandersteg
Gasteretal, south of Kandersteg
gorge road to Gasteretal, built in 19th century with the idea of drilling a tunnel to Lötschental (never happened)
in Kandertal (rte 64)
in Wimmis
Toblerone defense line above Wimmis (Compass cycles are working on a proper tire to ride over this)
road to Gestelenpass from Diemtigtal (discovery for me, nobody in that valley, cycling perfection)
descending into Simmental

What a way to come back Basilic!
Nef, nice shots too, where are they taken?
And KT, awesome as always.
Keep them coming

You’ve outdone yourself @Basilic! And now I know what inspired the shape of Toblerone chocolate, so educational as well.

Welcome 'back'... I'm looking forward to your pics.basilic wrote:hey, thanks yall!
Best thing, the pictures are visible now, I may be posting again.
I'll add this: anticipation of the Croatian drubbing of Argentina (in the Simmental)

Lovely photos Basilic.
Time to wrap my report up. Day 6 of my French cols trip, the task was to get from Oz near Allemond to the hotel in Huez village. The view in the morning was spectacular.
Fuel up before the hard work. I love boulangeries.
First I did the Col d'Ornon, pretty and straightforward, then descended to take the very minor road that climbed to Villard Reymond on the opposite side of the valley from the Alpe. This is a stiff and prolonged climb.
Heading along the ridge at altitude, the road turns to gravel for a couple of km. I really enjoyed that. I'd love to do a trip focussed on Alpine gravel.
From this side of the valley there are amazing views. You get a helicopter view of Bourg d'Oisans.
You can see pretty much the complete length of Alpe d'Huez.
The descent after Villard Notre-Dame includes four unlit, wet tunnels.
The Alpe always has to be done.

Love that photo of all of Alpe D'Huez, so many hairpins! I was there last spring, but it was on the school skiing trip, so I didn't have my bike It's beautiful in the snow too.
I got a bit too excited when I saw the truncated spur on the left of the same photo when I was there I guess I had a good geography teacher.
