Schwinn Columbus Tenax tubing identity

Ran across a guy in s Tx this winter who apparently to listen to him ... knew something about bike tubing from yesterday. Memory foggy here .. believe he stated the Schwinn Tenax of the 80's was just a vanilla version of 531 (?).

Had 2 of the Premis .. since moved on. Road nice for comfort .. sorta flexy. Racing geo I think ... only 25's or maybe 28 tires with a different brake. One of mine would on take 25's for height.

I'm more what the ride quality/comfort actually IS ... vs what said ride looks like. Yet I find myself admiring some of these older vintage Italian steel frames. And... I have my personal stable down to 2-3...

 "Tenax is the production grade of professional SL and SP tubing. It's double-butted drawn seamless tubing with the same wall thickness and butt profiles as SL and SP" so sez article which appears to be knowledgeable.
