Still about 1950km for Kristof as I write this.
One podcast I listened to made the point that Kristof hasn't done a non-stop race this long before, whereas Mike (and Sarah) know exactly what to expect from themselves later on. Particular mention that Kristof was running on a "you can't eat enough to make up for the calories you are using, so why waste time trying to eat a lot anyhow", which is something that could start to be more of an issue the further you go.

But I know what you mean ;)

Must have been drunk when I wrote that Kristoff had 1000kms left

1800 now and still nothing new happening. Anyone know how Kristoff and Mike are at climbing? I heard Kristoff would go and ride 1000kms to the alps, do his climbing and ride home. For training.

Guessing he's no slouch then on the big stuff.

I think Rhino is a great character, his Instagram story never fails to make me laugh. He's proving to be a competent long distance rider as well.

The Kristof ride I saw he did a 1000km training ride from Belgium, finishing at the top of Ventoux.
He had a following car and didn't ride back home though, so.... ;)

6pm Monday local time and settled into a steady pattern again - Kristof, Mike 90km back, Sarah another 90km back.
But Kai Edel and Mitchell Luke in the 4th place battle are now resting longer and covering ground faster than the front 3, although ~120km behind Sarah....

No way! Kristoff had a rough night, probably at altitude, cold and overslept. Mike's in the lead! :P

Now it really is a race, great stuff!

Kristoff seems stuck in one position on the climb at the moment. Wonder what's up with him.

Kristof is closing in on Mike right now, it's going to be interesting how they fight for the first place.

//EDIT: I'm confused, seems like Mike is still few kms ahead of Kristof, I guess the position thingy takes a while to refresh; whatever, they are fighting for the lead nonetheless

Amazing how close it is at this point. Hopefully Mike can make the difference over the next mountainous section.
