Hi guys,

I'm bit confused about Strava privacy set up. Now I have all my rides marked as private with enhanced privacy turned on. I would be ok with this, but if I join a club it looks I'm not riding at all, so I would also like to at least display my rides as a bar graph with each bar representing a single week etc,.
Can someone give me a guide how to change it? Thanks.

probably the best thing to do is set up a few privacy zones within a few km of your house and then don't mark the rides as private. It means the rides and your identity is publicly visible, but no one can tell where you live.

The reason for doing more than one privacy zone is so that people can't triangulate your location if you use more than one route in and out of our house.

Thanks for the tip with zones.

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough in my first post, let me try again. What I want for non followers to see is something like this:

For as far as I know that is how your Strava would look like if others look at it. That is the standard way of showing a profile that is set as private.

To do what you're asking you would have- Enhanced Privacy- ON, Activities- Public.

If you set an activity to private it will be completely invisible everywhere and to everyone except you,
It won't show in clubs, segments, challenges, leaderboards or flybys and can't be seen by followers.

Got it, thanks, but my rides are now fully visible for club memebers with all the details of activity, like date, time HR etc. Can I hide it?

Well you can set them back to private again so only you can see them!
Whats the problem with with having rides visible? isn't that the point of using Strava in the first place?

Would be nice if they had a "hide metrics" function at times. Show just speed and kms etc, had one mate can strava for a while because he had someone copying every one of his workouts a week behind. Now he loads a ride into GC then exports it without metrics then posts it to strava to prevent the petty copycat crap..

Why on earth would anyone do that??

The only I think I would like to see added is a function where you can decide what data stays private or public. For example: set HR and power data on private. And that everyone still see speed/cadance/distance, but you are the only one that can see the HR/Power data.

Power and HR will be visible in segments no matter what in that case. Look at people who hide their power data. Else, segments will be open to cheating, which already is.

Ah yeah good point, cheating. Keep forgetting people take Strava so serious that feel the need to fake performances.

Sad, but that's how it is. :)

If one wants to hide their data, be it metrics or location then everything should be set to private and one should forget about clubs etc. It will be a totally personal tracker tool. I believe that's the case.

What a dipshit, joins a social cycling site and then wants things private

You can use fitflletools to remove fields eg HR, power, cadence, elevation,
it has other dubious uses like changing the date or time of your activity, (taking a sickie to go for a ride and don't want the boss to find out?)
