Hi weenies,

On holiday, don't have carbon paste etc to properly fix slipping seatpost on my caad12. Any other quick fix ideas? I tried the sand paper from my repair kit but didn't help.

Thanks!

get some clear nail varnish . build it up round the post so its a tight fit and clamp ....works everytime.
let it dry properly and wiggle it in gently .

Toothpaste + a touch of sand wins (thinking most similar to friction paste). Wife only had pink varnish!

Cheap hair spray lacquer ! seriously, it works. Spray some on the post and tighten as normal.

Not a bad idea either!

My solution worked ok but eventually failed, oh well.

Note to Cannondale 25.4 post users, the Hylix one is crap and has poor tolerances.

The hair spray tip works very well. I use AquaNet Extra Hold (still available at Walmart), works as good as friction paste and is a lot less messy.
