The THM says on their installation guide that the Barfly works in a similar fashion. It uses this same mount.

Thanks WW I see what you’re saying. I didn’t really understand how the barfly mount works to be honest. But now I see it relies on a small plate being bolted through the gap in the faceplate. I see what you’re saying about you not being able to supply that part.

The issue with the thm stem is obviously that the bolts that fix the plate to stem are not pointing straight forward. And that seems to be compounded by the fact that the bolts are attached to the stem rather than being screwed into the stem. So the reverse of the normal system.

Buying the barfly just for the hardware seems annoying to me. I’m hoping I can find a better solution. Thanks for your help. Your mounts look great for what it’s worth.
Tommy, the barfly direct mount solution only works with the Fizik stem or certain 3T stems. You can see it pretty good here in this pic I took. Those stems have a slot in the middle of the faceplate.

Thanks Rich. As Kode says the mount system is also compatible with the thm stem. I found a Bikeradar video with the guy from thm saying so. It looks like the back of the face plate has a recessed section which I guess helps?

On a side note which mount is that in your picture rich? It looks much shorter than the ones I’ve been looking at.

That is the original Barfly direct mount. It was all plastic and didn't have the interchangeable plate to switch mounts. it was only for Garmin. It would only fit a 520/820, not the big 1000 series Garmin units. When I got the Wahoo Bolt, I switched to the larger Barfly unit that is metal and has the interchangeable faceplates. Then Waldo created a custom one that matches the Wahoo Bolt aero mount perfectly.

Thanks Rich. It’s looking more and more likely I’m going down the same route as you did. But basically I’m buying the barfly mount for the fixing bolts and then buying an aftermarket mount that I actually like the look of. The barfly mount is £50 in the uk so it’s stinging a little!

Just finished up a Canyon S27 specific Garmin Varia mount (http://shpws.me/RsW8). and I am working on something called a Premier Tactical Bike (Tri bike, https://www.premierbike.com/products/ta ... 9573975299) to create a Varia mount for it.

Three new items for Pinarello, a loyal customer sent me a 1/2" cut off from the bottom of his Dogma F12 seat post and the iTalon Ultra Computer mount. I now have Dogma F12 seat post mounts for GoPro and Varia. Like all my other mounts, custom fit for the specific bike and device. Also an interface insert for the iTalon mount for Wahoo Fitness devices. That one uses all the original hardware to replace the Garmin insert with a Wahoo compatible version.

Pinarello Dogma F12 Seat Post GoPro Mount
Pinarello Dogma F12 Seat Post Varia Mount
Most iTalon Ultra Mount Wahoo Fitness Interface

Any CAD wizard interested in making some Bontrager mounts?

I have an ION200 front and Flare R rear. Would have to be able to put the ION in my garmin mount and my Flare on my seat rails

I already have a Bontrager to Garmin Adapter @ my Shapeways page, http://shpws.me/Rvmi
And I have several rail mounts for the Flare Taillight, depending on if andf how you want to detach the light, http://shpws.me/QO1Y. Different sizes are just different options, look at pictures carefully and read the description.

Does anyone here know if the Pinarello F12 seat post is the same post used on the F8 and F10?
I have been told it was but I have no proof if that is actually correct.

Okay, I confimed from several sources that the Dogma F8, F10 and F12 all use the same seat post. I have edited the listing on Shapeways to reflect this infomation. Unfortunately, Shapeways has (again) locked the product for review to make sure it doesn't violate any copyrights. Likely it will be sometime on Monday before it is released to the public.

what is the base thickness of your K-Edge Combo Mount Di2 Interface? The base part that screws into a K-Edge mount underneath where the GoPro K-Edge mounts onto.

@kode54, the base is 3 mm thick the entire Interface is 6.5 mm thick at the thickest points, give or take 0.1 mm which is the printing tolerance.

I found out something new yesterday, it appears that the Karoo Hammerhead bicycle computer is what I would call 99% Garmin Mount compatible. I say only 99% because they have oriented their mount the way Garmin did the old bike mount kit for their Forerunner watches, it is offset 90° from the Edge mount. But it is 100% compatible with my Garmin mounts since I redesigned my mounts from the very beginning to be Forerunner & Edge & Varia compatible. With an Eighth-turn mount you can mount in either portrait or landscape orientations using the exact same mount without modification.

So now I can claim Karoo compatibility, when using any of my Garmin mounts.

Here is DC Rainmaker's review of the device, https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2018/02/...th-review.html
It also appears to be on sale for $349 USD with free shipping for the holidays.

Note that I don't actually have a Karoo, just the mount insert (Which surprisingly can be ordered separately) and their pictures show a 90° offset in orientation of their mount, it might be able to mount without the offset, I simply have no way of knowing.
