yeah, same here. the Form3 is nice, but the ends didn't quite fit properly. not sure if it was thoroughly tested on many stems.
also, i had one pop off on the B2VT ride. it was a rough road but the center bolt just came right off. had to search for the Garmin in the rough, but ended up finding it and the center bolt was still attached. loose tolerance i think.

a tad pricey for a pair of carbon tubes though
I have just ordered a pair- hopefully they’re as good as the cages

I ordered two of them also. Anxious to see how they fit/work. (I had the F3 FormMount, and although very clever and nicely made, didn't suit me very well.)

I've decided to come into the 21st century and finally get a Garmin 520 in the sale and with discount on top.

I've been searching for an out front mount compatible with my AX Lightness Rigid stem. I assume I'd have to go custom? The AX bars have flat tops so I guess the only option may be to mount it round the stem using the standard mount? I'd rather have an on the bar option as a minimum though.

Thought I should add, the bolts are supposed to go through the other way round to most stems. The bar is upside down in my pic, but it's the only one I had on Imgur.

Should I try and make something from aluminium or is there a viable option out there?

My thoughts for a custom one would be mounting where the small aluminium flap goes underneath the bolt heads (in it's place). It could then come down and out front. Alternatively it could attach to the stem bolts via a couple of nuts, but think this would be an inferior design.

Any stem bolt Garmin mount for a Giant SLR Flux OD2 stem? I already own the F3 which I would not use for paper weight.

Hi All Image

If any of you have the Thomson X2 Edge Mount I am interested in buying it.

Morten says he will not make a production run of I any more Image

Are there any alternative to the X2 mount?

It has to bu centered in the middle of the stem and using one of the bolts for attachment.

Image

Are the any carbon mounts out there that will work?

Hi :D
we have CarbonWorks Cockpit Mount optimized and finally available.

1. The side panels are made in black anodised aluminium instead of plastic now.
2. The small round parts (inserts) with the threads are made of stronger material than before.
3. The cockpit mount comes in an exclusive magnet-box
4. It is longer and compatible with the Garmin 1030 now.

If you guys have some feedback, I would really apreciate it!
You can always send an email to me:

Thank you,

Awesome news, thanks Simon. Was hoping you guys are working on the 1030 option.
Will see if I can organise one via a friend in Germany. He is visiting us in SA in March. Free shipping.

New Extralite mount for hyperstem is ready! http://www.extralite.com/Products/HyperStem%20CH-01.htm
At 99 € I think is one of the most expensive mounts out there, even if not the prettiest.. imho they could make a simpler out front mount, instead they did complicate it uselessly (it should have used exiting clamps not new ones!), making it too expensive.
