So they are launching their Damone bike then? With some magical thing in the toptupe seatube junction that is going to increase ride quality and make us ride like Cancellara no doubt

Maybe they managed to fit a Cancellara in the bottom bracket for consumer versions...

What will follow is a google translate, translated preview:

Domane Trek: the bike for Fabian.
March 30, 2012 | By Donna | Posted in Bike News, Homepage, News

Nope, not the new Madone. But Domane. A road bike designed for the classics-where you frequently get cobblestones beneath your wheels. The bike for Fabian. Just a few highlights of the just introduced newcomer.

The frame has a known Isospeed 'decoupler' in the stem. In short, the seatpost is isolated from the stem by a part which receives the blows. At the front, there is a fork with a slightly larger jump (48 instead of 43) is mounted. That means more 'flex'. And the Domane is built around a new Performance geometry: slightly longer swingarm, fork a larger jump, a moderate rake, lower bracket height and a steeper seat angle. What remains is the BB90 bottom bracket, now complemented by a 3 S Keeper Chain: the chain can no longer fall between crank and frame.
The derailleur cables-mechanical and electro-walk on the left side of the down tube internally. The brake cable runs through the top tube. "Performance Cable Routing" Pull this call. Also: 1050 grams for the frame, built from 6000 OCLV carbon and 'hidden fender mounts. You can use both 23 and 25 mm tires mounted.

The Domane will as a complete bike and a frameset for sale. And of course, is the Domane in Project One. More later. Will become a first test drive.

Curious concept. The roller bearing approach is interesting, if inelegant.

im not sure it's a bearing. it looks like one, but a bearing pivot there does not make sense. a pivot axle surrounded by an elastomer, like a car engine mount, makes sense to me.

Releasing a "cobbled classic" frame is hardly exciting news since not too many people need a "cobbled classic" frame. :smartass:

Country roads around the Midwest make me feel like I'm on Belgian cobbles

Last year the city streets required a 5inch travel bike if you did not want to pee blood. This bike would of been handy. Luckily they fixed them for the SB.

Pretty cool idea. Real nice integration into the frame. At least it does not look like a Thudbuster.

As long as the move can add to the brand image (sorta similar concept to the non-STI left lever on the OCLV5900 back in 2000), this could end up helping them sell more Madones. It's not like Trek would blink at the cost of a few more molds.

The roads here aren't that bad, but I like what Trek has done with this one.

Have there been any claimed weights for the frame and/or frame+fork?
The built-in and subtle fender mounts could also make this into a surprisingly nimble commuter build.

100 grams heavier than the Madone frame. IIRC 1050gr.
