More riders of Israel on LW wheels.
They do have the Black INC 20 and 35 as being super light.
So why the LW wheels?
I would prefer LW too but that's just because they look cool.
are ther any photos? would love to see that!
You should look for pictures of the Tour de Suisse.

After Froome as riding them in the Duaphine, Daniel Martin and Ben Hermans are riding them in Tour de Suisse.

Ineos will switch to discbrakes when they lose the Tdf this year
They can't beat Rog or Pog no matter what brakes they use this year.

I'm thinking it's because they have better CdA per gram (deeper for the same weight). Not as aero as normal ~50mm optimized rims but moreso than the shallower ones for around the same weight (if not less).

afaik LW wheels are not designed for aero at all, it's all about stiffness to weight. They might be deep but they're not particularly aero. The rim profile is designed for the carbon spokes to be attached, not with cda in mind...

Have to relativise. Taking Tour measurement, the 20mm wide had been measured at 221W versus 218 for the DT ARC 1100 in 50 or 225 for same generation Boras or 220 for the Enve SES 45.
Yes, far from the 200w record the Mavic cxr 80. But not totally the brick people like to claim (Hyperion are just shy of 240W)

Edit: their profile make them likely less stable in crosswind and poorly handle transient states, so not optimised… but not Uber shit…

Like I said, 50mm LW may still be more aero than 20-35mm Black Inc at the same/similar weight. Of course they aren't as aero as equivalent 50mm Dura Ace or whatever rims, but ISN/Ineos may have found that they are best CdA/weight combination for these types of stages.

Weighs the same/similar as shallow rims but more aero, yet (of course) not as aero as aero-optimized rims of the equivalent depth.

It might be my eyes but it looks like the pope has no need for a rear brake. Also - he has quite the stable of bikes by now I believe.

Not saying that the pope would ever need a rear brake, but, I believe it's just a white brake wire contrasted against Bernal's trousers if you compare to the front
