MAAP goodies in the mail.


Shorts are longer than other much cheaper kit I've got (I like this!).

Long story short: I'm a MTB guy who's slowly but surely becoming a Roadie in my older age (49).

Bought a road bike early July, put my trusty old XTR SPD's on it and started riding with no brand cycling shorts under joggers + T-Shirt and hoodie. Fast forward I'm doing laps around Centennial Park (Sydney Aus.) 3 times a week, wear S-WORKS Torch 3 wide (perfect for my wide feet!) road shoes, bought some SIROKO bibs and starting to get over feeling naked in full kit (lol).

A week or so ago I had a good look at the MAAP online shop and was kinda blown away at the prices. For the price of one MAAP Jersey I could get 2 jerseys, 2 pairs of bibs and 2 pairs of socks from YKYWBIKE on AliExpress so I placed a $200+ AUD order on the AliExpress stuff, it was shipped fast but AliExpress chose a local courier called iMile, which looks to be some sort of international Uber-like delivery service. The delivery agent dumped the parcel outside my apartment building (very busy street with bus stop outside) and the parcel was stolen.

I've spent hours with AliExpress chat, had multiple refund rejections (as they keep stating the parcel was delivered). They've advised me to contact iMile but there's no phone number, no physical address and they weren't replying to my emails. I've since tried to get a chargeback going with PayPal (still waiting).

I thought I'd put in an order with MAAP. 10x more expensive than the AliExpress stuff, but I'd be supporting local. Items came quick, packaging for all items was all eco-friendly (nicely designed too). Everything looks good, feels good and fits even better (though the rear pockets in the jersey feel a bit high). Chamois in the bibs is super thick (not complaining), Gloves don't fit that tight, and smell a bit funky, but padding is good and there are no sharp edges unlike POC gloves. Kit is super light and makes the SIROKO and Van Rysel gear I have look and feel baggy, cheap and nasty in comparison.

I've read some reviews of the gear not lasting, fingers crossed it does as it's the most I've ever spent on cycling apparel.

The pieces fit great and the sizing is consistent. Pricey but quality overall has been excellent and Maap customer service has also been really good whenever I've had a quality issue. Looks great

Another thumbs up for Maap. With a few exceptions the only summer jerseys I wear. (Sticking with Assos for bottoms.)

Not quite. The Alt Road (gravel) jerseys are a bit smaller, mostly too short in the body - enough of a difference that I wear XL in Alt Road vs Large in everything else. I have also noticed that my 2024 Pro Air jerseys are smaller than my 2023 examples. Oposite for my Pro Base jerseys, latest version is slightly larger. The discrepancies for these items however are not enough to require a different size.

Love MAAP, got quite a few options from them. Like 4 short sleeves, 1 long sleeve, 1 winter jacket, 1 rain jacket, 2 long thermo's and 3 short bibs. Been absolutely flawless and happy riding with them. I also have alot of ASSOS. Which is also fine. I switch between MAAP and ASSOS during the week. The only thing is, never buy MAAP at full retail. Plenty of sales going on and they have the strava challenges for a 50 euro/dollar coupon. That way you can save some money because it aint cheap

Yeah but the recent designs don't really do it for me.
I also only buy with discount (mostly Strava challenges)
But I do like the stuff I have from them a lot.

I agree, I like the minimalistic design. straight up color with MAAP on it. Perfect, the new Orbit Pro Air for example, damn no. Same for embark line. Well atleast that saves me some money huh

I don't see full fingered gloves, summer gloves, arm warmers, leg warmer, knee warmers, winter cap, shoe covers, vest in your cycling wardrobe.
I would suffer in Toronto weather, either too cold or too hot.

Ah I forgot, I have the MAAP Prime vest. I want the Draft Team Vest. Next strava challenge is in 2 weeks, ill probably get it then. The Prime vest is polartec shell and a bit too warm for now. For gloves I pretty much stuck to castelli, Perfetto ROS, Spectacolo, Estremo and got bunch of other options from Assos/Roeckl. Same thing for arm/leg/knee warmers. All sorts of option from ASSOS. Seems to work great for me. And then probably have about 5-6 shoe covers. MAAP is a great brand, but some items are also just too expensive for what they are. Alot of items I already had before I noticed MAAP so no point getting them then

Lol, for real...yesterday was not fun. Rolled out at 7am in single digits and came home in the afternoon to near 20 and sunny. Our weather is bonkers.

Also, I'm the same as MrRolandos. My go-to kits are maap and attaquer (a few pas) but my accessories are castelli for gloves and velocio/assos for warms, hats etc.
