'Aero'/SS Jersey with skinny/longer sleeves
Hi all,
I have fairly long (ok, really long) and skinny arms and often when wearing my short-sleeve jerseys (which fit otherwise well - for reference I mostly use Rapha training team kit and Universal Colours) the sleeves look quite short and I also get some flapping, both of which I find aesthetically unpleasant (and supposedly this could cost me a couple watts, but that's a secondary concern as I only race maybe 2-3 times a year and mostly on gravel).
I am looking to buy a few jerseys that would solve the problem, either by being "aero optimised", or otherwise just have longer and thinner sleeves than a typical short-sleeve jersey. In addition to the long & thin sleeves, I only have three criteria:
- no black or near-black,
- possibly understated style,
- no Castelli; this kinda goes hand in hand with the previous point about understatement, as I won't ever wear a red blob with a lobster-looking-scorpion.
For now I've eyed Rule 28 but I wanted to buy 2-3 jerseys and there's hardly any variety in their catalog, just black and white (I suppose this has to do with the fabric of the sleeves needing to be of these specific colours - but I really don't care as much about the sleeves being ribbed to save a couple watts, and if I did, I could just get an aero baselayer).
Any other recommendations?

Have same issue with long and skinny arms. Longest, tightest sleeves I've found are Rapha Pro Team aero jersey. I needed a size larger than Pro Team Training but the sleeves are almost down to my elbows!
Otherwise Maap evade pro and La Passions jerseys also have nice tight and long sleeves and come in lots of different designs.

Try the Siroko SRX jersey's. They have long and tight sleeves. The jersey's are very stretchy so order your regular size or even size down. They are sized much larger than Castelli. They're muted and subtle in style and are inexpensive.

I'd agree with the Rapha Pro Team Aero. It's one of my favorite jerseys. Another that might have fit your needs is the LaPassione Dreamer, but stock is pretty low. I have a LeCol Pro Aero that is very similar to the Rapha.
I have a Siroko SRX like mentioned above, but was pretty disappointed with the quality and customer service. The sleeve cut was pretty terrible, and they refused to replace or even allow me to return it until I put in a dispute with my credit card, at which point they replaced it, with another jersey with the same problem, which tells me their QC is pretty bad. Also, the sleeves are not that long.

Here's a better picture of the Siroko length and QC issue.

@BikeTyson - That's terrible with the Siroko SRX Jersey's. I have four and they've all been perfect.
Have you tried any of LaPassione's other jersey's? I'm curious how the fit is (i.e. size up like Castelli).

Shame you won’t consider Castelli. They have the best moisture wicking and fit for climber/TT bodies.
Haven't tried any other LaPassione jerseys because once I tried the Dreamer, it instantly became my favorite and I bought it in 3 other colors. It was perfect for me so I didn't feel the need to try any others. Actually haven't bought any other jerseys since.
For sizing, I'm 189cm, 100cm chest, 80kg and wear a Medium. Tried the Large but it was too loose for my liking. The Rapha Pro Team Aero is Large.
And yea, for the Siroko getting two in a row with the problem probably meant it was a bad production batch. It was more the customer service that annoyed me. They flat out refused to replace it and wanted me to ship it back at my expense if I wanted to return it. This was after initially refusing the return because I had taken the tags off and said I must have damaged it while riding. I put in a credit card dispute and suddenly they offered a replacement, which also had the problem. I just gave up with them at that point.
Décathlon/ van rysel racer short sleeve jerseys have long sleeves that come pretty close to my elbow and they have good compression. They have them in 2 types regular and endurance. Both are the same except for the back which has extra pockets for the endurance.

I ordered a La Passione Switch jersey based on BikeTyson's recomendation of the brand (and the 54% off). They only has the Dreamer series in Navy or Black and I didn't need either color. The jersey seems nice and well made. Arms are long, nearly to my elbow, but it will be a month or two before I get to wear it outside. I did size up and found the similar to Castelli.
I'm not sure if Castelli really performs better than other brands, but I do agree that the new Aero jersey's look nice and pretty understated, and agree the orange color looks sweet.

A good tailor could help you alter your sleeves if that’s an issue with some kits you don’t wear cause of fit.
Just make sure, they are using a spandex thread for the alterations or the alterations will just break upon putting it back on.
