The Alpha Light could be used at lower temps with a thicker base layer, but I prefer to use it with a light SS base or none at all, using the "built-in" base layer. In a medium the original RoS version has a close fit, including the sleeves. Yes, there is a bit of overlap as well as personal preferences. You can make less things work in more situatons, or, once you know what works for you, buy more stuff and cover all your bases. Which has been an easy decision with some of the recent sales. :)

How does the sizing of the Perfetto RoS 2 (3 pockets, current model) compare with the predecessor RoS (2 pockets) exactly? I understand the latter is a bit tighter fit, but is there a full size difference between these two?
I recently asked Castelli themselves about this & they said

"At the moment we are offering also the previous version of the PERFETTO RoS as long as stock lasts. If you are looking for the new one
(PERFETTO RoS 2), you might want to go down a size if you were happy with your fit of the predecessor.
Ciao"

I am good with 3 colors of Perfetto Ros already but was curious. But it does sound like they are saying a full size difference as the Medium previously fit perfect

Yes I'm glad I got a few of the last years model as it fit me very well & works well for a wide temp range
I'm sad to say I think Castelli is going the wrong direction lately with the baggy sleeves & midsections especially with the Rosso Corsa stuff

I have the Castelli Alpha ros2 light and it is brillaint. The infinium fabric really works and it is amazing how warm it is being so thin.
I live in SoCal so I have only worn it down to high 50's. Might need to add a thermal base layer if you ride in 40's.

I got one of these as well.. (not used it yet) I've been down to the mid/upper 30s with a thermal base layer and a pedal mafia thermal jacket and have been ok (not great) I run warm so I went alpha light to not over do it.

PM does not rate their jacket, but it's more of a jersey to me.

Picked up an Alpha ROS2 for a good price. Went out in 5 degrees 0 wind chill and it was almost too warm, not sure I'll get much use out of it. It was good sitting outside at the coffee stop didn't get cold. Maybe good for skiing.

Yeah, while everyone's sensitivity to coldness is different to me the Alpha ROS 2 is definitely a jacket for zero degrees or lower. However in that range it's one of the few and probably the best option. Great jacket even if it's rarely needed.

I'm curious what the Castelli Raddoppia jacket is like. Does anyone know?

The Raddoppia looks appropriately warm (but not too warm) for British winter weather. However, I can't see any ventilation zips, and I'm uncertain of its rain repellency. Endura's Pro SL 3-season jacket looks like a better bet :?:
