Can anyone confirm if the sizing/fit of Sportful Fiandre bib tights is the same as the Rosso Corsa line of the sister brand, Castelli? I wear size M in most brands (Assos, Gore, Santini, Q36.5) or even S (7Mesh), but in Castelli (Premio, Sorpasso, Mondiale etc.) bibs I've had to size up to L.
I'd really like to buy a pair of Sportful Fiandre Pro bib tights (same as last year's Fiandre NoRain Pro, except the slight name change) and tried them on in size M (my local dealer had no L in stock). The fabric is stretchy and I could pull them on, but they fit quite tight/snug. They were not uncomfortable at all, so what I'm really worried about is rather longer term durability (i.e. seams potentially tearing due to the tight fit). I wonder if it would make more sense to order them in size L (though that might mean waiting for a few more weeks), but those might well prove too long/loose.
What confuses me is that according to the Sportful sizing chart I'm definitely size M (85 cm waist, 96 cm hips, 179 cm tall), but the Castelli sizing chart is identical to the Sportful one (no surprise, they are both owned by the same company), yet Castelli in size M is too tight for me. Sportful jackets also fit me in size L more than M. But as I said, the size M Fiandre Pro bib tights did not feel uncomfortable at all, merely compressive and snug. So I wonder if any of you have a comparative perspective on the Fiandre bibs (and other brands's sizing/fit)

I own more Sportful than Castelli, but I only have Size L in both brands. I cannot comment on the Fiandre bib tights as I dont own these, but I have at least one pair of shorts and jerseys/jackets of either brand and its consistently L for me. I'm also around your size (178cm) but I dont know my measurement, however, I'm around 80-82kg.

Thanks! I'm around 71 kg now, so that 10 kg difference might account for a size difference between us :) But I still wouldn't fit the size M Castelli bibs

I've upsized 1 size in both Castelli and Sportful compared to my Assos clothing. I haven't had the Fiandre pro, but I've had a couple of the nanoflex tights, and they worked well in 1 size up vs the Assos. I'd get the L. If the fiandres have the same type of "coating"/spray on it, then in my experience it wears quicker on knees if the garment is too tight.

If it's any help I wear both Assos and Sportful (Bodyfit Pro bib) in the same size. My experience is that Sportful is slightly smaller/tighter than the Assos. Not massively, just tighter but in a good way, if that makes any sense.

For reference I am 184 cm/75 kgs with 86cm waist and wear size L.

That's a great idea! Thanks!

Hm, that's tricky then. I have almost the same waist size, but weigh a bit less, and am also shorter (and my legs are not too long anyway, a bit shorter than average for my height).
Do you have the Bodyfit shorts or the bib tights? I wonder if the tights in size L might be too long for me (my jeans inseam is 32")

I’m L in both Castelli and Sportful bibs, M everywhere else.

Echoing that Sportful sizing is basically the same as Castelli.

That said, last year's team custom Aero Race 4 bibs and Aero Race 6.0 jerseys were noticeably smaller in all dimensions than the previous versions.

I would bet that the latest inline Sportful stuff has also shrunk.

From my experience with Sportful Bibshorts from around 2018, they are not as snug as Castelli around the waist. I wouldn't consider it a difference in size, but more a difference in how they are constructed, if that makes sense.

I've followed the common bad advice on sizing up with Castelli before, and ended up with my junk swimming in the bibshorts. Their sizing chart seems accurate to me for both Sportful and Castelli. Cycling clothes are supposed to be tight.

This definitely makes sense, I agree! I've only tried Castellis that either had a less stretchy double/reinforced waist section (Mondiale, Premio, Sorpasso) or were simply not stretchy due to the fabric (Windstopper in the Polare).
So I guess I should safely got with the size M Sportful Fiandre Pro bib tights (they have plenty of stretch and the bib section is also pretty stretchy fishnet material).

I'm now looking to purchase a Sportful Fiandre Cabrio jacket but I'm not sure whether to go with M or L. Most reviews suggest going up one size (i.e. L instead of M), but 1-2 people have also recommended going with my regular size (M). Also, from what I've read, Sportful bibs might be a bit more generously sized than the equivalent sister brand Castellis, but their jackets are supposedly really tight and "Italian-cut".
I was able to try on a Fiandre Light jacket in my local store and the L was snug (didn't seem too large at all), but they had no size M in stock for comparison. So I wonder if the M would still fit fine or would be too small for me.

I’ve not tried the Sportful jackets (at least in part for fear of ordering the wrong size) but I’d bet my money on the L.

Hi, Maybe it comes usefull. I have two sportfull jerseys, both are s sizes and both have race fit, but very narrows, if compare to other brands, same sizes. Narrow than one or two sizes, between S and M. Note that after few dressing, they are slightly strached and fits better. So I think sportfull have minimum one size smaller, than usuall.

Yep, another one who wears the same size in Castelli and Sportful.
