Are the pockets on Q36.5 jerseys solid yet? Specifically if I put a phone in one, and 3~4 gels in another, and keys/cards in the third?

The Q36.5 pinstripe jerseys from 4 years ago were pretty loose, so when sprinting out of saddle I could feel the objects in the pocket wobble around. This sensation, at least to me, is really annoying. Other brands with reinforced pockets don't have this behavior.

Could anyone confirm how pockets perform on the latest jerseys? Thanks!

I tried both on in the store yesterday and was surprised to see that the outer cover fabric of both imitates classic chamois (as in chamois leather). I'm not sure whether they have also changed the sizing/fit. I wear size S in the Dottore X, but I could only try the Clima and the Dottore Pro in M (they had no S in the store), and they fit okayish. I remember I had to return the Dottore X when I first ordered it in M as the fabric was bunching

The last pinstripe jersey I bought, one month ago, feels solid regarding the pockets. Better than the R2 jersey.

Could anyone comment on the new pads used in the Dottore Clima and the Dottore Pro? I have the Dottore Pro and Unique in the same size. I would consider the overall fit to be the same, but there are some differences in how the fabric lays due to the differences in construction between the two. The Dottore actually feel less constricted even though they have more seams. They aren't looser or less compressive, rather they do a better job of following body movement. My impression is that te Dottore Pro is an evolution of the Unique cut and materials. If you wear an S in the Dottore X then you'll likely wear the same in Pro.

The new pad, which is supposedly all proprietary instead of the EI pad used in the older models, is outstanding. It's a bit thinner than the older EI pad, but is very well shaped to provide support in all of the right areas an no excess elsewhere. The pad cover, for lack of a better term, has no seams and is elastic so that is conforms to the rider when in a riding positon. This is easily the most comfortable pad that I've ever ridden (prior holder of that title was that used in the Assos GTO).

Yes. The fabric making contact with the rider is a synthetic suede made out of microfiber. The multi-piece foam pad is bonded to that. There are no seams or stitches in the cover that could cause irritation.

Although they are all very good, my favorite are the new Dottore Pro. I don't know what magic is in that new chamois pad, but it's the best I've ever tried. Second favorite is the Dottore Clima. I love the super thin, papery material on those and the pad is a close second to the Pro. I was surly least favorite was the most expensive ones. It's not that I dislike the Unique bibs, I just find the pad on the Dottore Pro to be in a league of its own.

Thanks. Is the pad still stitched around the outer edge though? Or is that also bonded?

And how does the new outer fabric in the seating are feel compared to the older Dyneema? I'm wondering if it will be as sturdy and durable as the Dyneema.

I have not tried the Dottore X, so can't compare them. As for the Clima, I have the new version with the dark grey pad with white dots/lines. It is different from the pad in the Pro. As far as I can tell, the new Dottire Pro are the only ones with the new in-house pad. You are right that it has an old school texture to it almost like genuine chamois leather, but it is very soft to the skin. And as I mentioned above, it is the best I've ever tried and I've tried a lot (Assos, Pas Normal, Bioracer, Kalas, Velocio, Cafe du Cyclist, Rapha, etc). At this point, I wish I had not gotten the Unique and Clima bibs and got 3 pairs of the Pro instead. They're that good, in my opinion.

When you say that you have the Clima with the dark grey pad and white lines, do you mean this one?

Those are from last year's version of the Clima. For this year, however, the inside cover material does not look like that any more, but it is the same chamois-like uniform light grey microfiber as the Pro. Not exactly the same, but very similar. I just tried it on in a store yesterday. The pad itself is still different, they have only changed the inner surface.

I couldn't try on the the Pro, as they only had very large sizes in stock. But I noticed that at the front, the padding is shorter than the Clima, so if you ride bent forward in the drops (or in a more aero position), there may not be enough padding around the front of the saddle? It depends on one's body, sizing etc. too, I guess. But the padded section definitely does not reach as forward as on the Clima

Yes, that's the pad I have on my Clima bibs. I did not realize that they changed the cover of the pad this year. They could improve their website by providing clear pictures of the pad for every model.

Interesting comment on the Dottore Pro pad. I actually find that pad better higher up in the taint area. I mostly ride in an aggressive position, mostly in the drops, so I prefer a pad with more targeted comfort in gooch. The Dottore Pro works better for me in that regard, for some reason. YMMV
