You understand that Oakley are now just another brand in the portfolio of Italian mega eyewear company Luxotica, I'm sure that the lenses conform to international standards, but doubt that they are any better than that, no matter what the marketing may say.
Luxottica owns most of the US market. That doesn't mean the lenses are the same with every brand. Ray Bans and Oakleys are very different and seperate companies.

I have several aftermarket replacement lenses. If they were as good, I would say so. They just aren't.

Oakley uses purified polycarbonate, patented, that is optically like glass. Besides the coatings, that's why they look so optically perfect. I have to believe that patent ran out by now but I don't see any others with this level of clarity.
Luxottica control most of the worldwide market, not just the US, if you think that there's something special about Oakley lenses in 2024 then knock yourself out.

I have sunglasses from Oakley, POC, Smith and others and none of them have any optical aberration that I can tell (20/20 vision), but by far the easiest scratched are the Oakleys!
What does POC and Smith have to do with aftermarket replacement Oakley lenses??
Enjoy your POC and Smiths. I guess I'm just more picky about optics.

Absolutely nothing, my POC and Smith reference was in reply to this, all clear now 8)

Have ordered some lenses from ebay from Polar Lens for £19.99 so will see how it goes!
Any longer term review of these? Recently lost my genuine Oakley photochromic lenses and replacements seem to have gone up from £60 when I bought them a few years ago to close to £100 so considering alternatives...

I was a oakley fan boy before the sale to Luxottica and I have nothing nice to say since the sale (down right shitty customer serivce) however I have to admit that their prizm lenses are the real deal. The tuning of the colors for the activity ( bike riding and the water lens ) really do make a difference. Now is the difference worth the extra cost that is up to you...

I hate to give oakley/Luxottica any money as they won't put my RX in their older frames that they had done in the past. And super mixed messages from customer serivce. However I still buy their prizm lenses RX lens and then ship the the lens and the frames to a different optometrist to have the RX lens recut/edged to fit the frame. ( yes I am nuts) but Road prizm colors are just perfect ... and some of those old oakley frames are the best ever made ( Ask Tom Cruise, just kidding : ) )

The founder of Oakley and his son have created a new sunglass company and the reviews have been great !!!

https://m-experiment.com

So so waiting for them to do RX lens!!! : )

Nice. Oakley cycling sunglasses haven’t really evolved as much as some of the newer companies. I have switched to 100% and Sungod and like those much better. I’ll have to check out this new venture. Thx for posting.

The styling on the M Experiment sport offerings is very late 90's early 2000's Oakley. These will be insanely popular with certain Oakley fans.
