Most AERO bottle solution.

I would like to know what is the most aerodynamic solution for my bottles.
It will be approx 45min Crit race. 45km/h+ average so nutrition on the bike is not critical.
The bike. Felt AR advanced Disk.
The bottles. Elite Crono CX TT bottles with carbon cages.
The diwntube of thr Felt is a VERY narrow kammtail. The bottles are SLIGHTLY wider than the down tube. And then a fair bit wider than the seat tube.
What would be best?
No bottles?
Or attempt to fill the frame up with the bottles?

Or some bottleholder mount attaching to your saddle.

Please do not attach any bottle under your saddle for crit racing, I have seen them to have a much higher chance of dropping a bottle than in traditional locations.
For crits (in the UK mind) I've never found a need for a bottle but I would probably go for a soft flask in a back pocket as I would imagine at most you would have 2-3 drinks and this will affect your aerodynamics less

Not sure I agree with this. Of course it depends on the frame, but an aero bottle on DT fills in space and will generally be faster. I run an empty bottle on 10 mile TTs and the Cannondale aero bottle empty in crits (on a systemsix) for this reason.
The seat tube however is pretty much always a penalty - unless you've got a complete system like the new madone.

That's not true: according to both Trek and Cannondale their bottles test faster on every frame they tested including round tubes. The OP asked for advice for a crit.
Please do not suggest he puts the bottle behind the saddle. If you're not sure what a crit is, I'd research that, first.
The Trek aero bottle solution is probably your best bet. For a 45 min crit, it won't matter much.

I just installed the RSL cages on my 54cm Gen 6 Madone and will probably take them off. It is very difficult to remove the ST bottle and 750mL Purists do not feel very secure in their place. 650mL Purists seem okay, but the 750s get top heavy and can roll out sideways.
I may put them on for crits and run an empty ST bottle.

Maybe 1 - 3 of these package filler air pillows in the back pockets would be an even better (lighter) solution provided water is not required?
But yeah, they'd probably be better suited to like a hillclimb TT or similar.
Has anyone experimented with those?

I use the RSL cage with Elite Fly bottles and they fixed great. One downside, they squizzed a bit to much when in cage, so may change for new bottles may one‘s in a saison…
