The weight is great (1,108g and 1.218g) but I find they have too much flex out of the saddle, so much so that I can pretty much push the rim to the seatstays on my Aethos.
I am therefore going to go for something different. I want them:
- as light as possible (obvs!),
- 40/45 depth (think will look less OTT on the aethos) and
- stiffer (but not stiff they break my back on rubbish UK roads).
I have honed it down to 3 but alternatives considered (+the FS Evo, albeit too deep). Would really welcome peoples thoughts / experiences.
I am leaning towards the Extralite + Hyper combo, in part because there are the lightest (!) but also I think they have a pretty quiet freehub (6 bolt rotors will also save another 20g) I am however worried they will be too stiff with 24 carbon spokes F+R
I am also wondering if any benefit of having narrower rim profile on tye rear. I know it is considered good on deeper profile wheels but wasn’t sure if worth it on 40/45
