Hi,

Does anyone know if there are new Zipp road wheelsets due soon?

I was thinking of a set for the spring, and I had a stock watch on 353NSW (Shimano) at Sigma Sports as they were out of stock.

Sigma have just informed me that they're discontinued and no longer available though.

Anybody aware of anything?

Cheers,

S

Probably discontinued for safety reasons. Turns out the 353NSW is highly allergic to retaining tyres according to quite a few forum members and pros in the peleton.

I wonder how much Zipp has paid out in injury claims due to these wheels frequently throwing off tyres.

Finally! I’m very interested to see what they come up with, but these wheels are problematic IMO.

I had a set that nearly killed me with a blow off.

I highly doubt they'll completely discontinue their headline race wheel that all their pro sponsored teams are riding.

My best guess given historical release dates for products would be either around Giro time or mid summer

Yikes! Cheers all. I didnt realise there was such an issue with them.

I have a set of 303FC which I've really enjoyed over the last few years. Current version, albeit earlier ones with the lighter spokes.

Have those had any similar issues for anybody? (I've had no problems at all)

I heard new 353s with an “integrated” TyreWiz, whatever that means. But that might have just been TyreWiz 2.0.

Just because an SKU is being discontinued, we don't need to jump to conclusions about a new wheel. Could just be a model year graphic update

Waiting for them to reinvent the wheel by adding hooks to them and marketing it as something new.

Simply extending the list of features for marketing vs fixing core issue seems like a very SRAM thing to do

There is a SRAM patent out there that was covered sometime this year talking about this. Aside from the integrated sensor I wonder if they will tweak the profile a little.

Nice one.
Though, I do hope they'll balance that kind of wheel well. :D
