Continental AS 35 vs Pirelli TLR 35

Bloody love them. A tad slower to pick up speed and a bit heavier on the climb but good grip and ride feel. They are staying on for the winter

Great. Not apples to apples vs the AS 35 but how is the comfort level?

any experience with 4S version ?

Because the P Zero already has thicker tread, equivalent grip, and more puncture protection than an GP5k AS? Pirelli should've called it the 4S to begin with.

Because the 4s has a max size of 30mm, and from what I can see they are no better than the GP5000 30mm E-50 which I already have.
I also can't find any details about the compound on the 4s and its ability in the cold. It's supposed to be the same as the regular version which isn't tailored for cold conditions, however, if anybody has this info I'd be greatful.

Unfortunately BRR only test at 21/22c so some winter /4s tyres may not show their additional grip until much lower temps. This is why their wet grip test doesn't help me much and I'm asking for real life experiences .

yep. I'm looking for a real life experiences as well, wet roads, 5-15*C (the other side of mountains where I ride in the mornings or evenings most of the time is wet - dew).
so P Zero Race 4S is just a heavier tyre (more protection), but compound doesn't offer more grip ?

I ordered a pair of 4s to see what they're like. If they operate well in lower temps, they would be a worthwhile upgrade for winter spins. I also ordered some GP5000 As 35mm to compare

I rode the Conti AS 35's yesterday for the first time, they were fantastic. I did 4 climbs and descents of the lower half of the Col de Chioula between 740 and 960 meters. The temperature was between 2-4ºC. The roads had some ice, plenty of melt water and snow droping from the banks and the trees above. Previous experience i have had in previous winters here have been on the Vittoria Corsa Controls 30mm. I was hesitant on the first descent as they were newley fitted and the temps were low enough not to want to be moving too fast. After the first climb, I was warmer and ready to push a little faster on the descents. Due to conditions, I was at no time appoaching anything close to summer dry road speeds, but the grip provided at no time left me worrying that they might slide out. Checking strava I was descending between between
35-45kmh,mostly due to air temperature rather than road conditions. All in all, very impressed. Visually, of course they are large, but they are a surprisingly fast tyre for their size and do not ride like you might expect a tyre of this size at all. I purchased them for the winter,but primarily for this years Paris Roubaix challenge. Last year I used the Corsa Controls, they were good, but i already feel these AS 35's are going to give far more confidence on the Pave, especially if wet.
