The front rim it's obvious ... yes. FS don't currently have a good option for <25mm and wide external for front wheels, and No.6 just took their stock gravel spec rim which has way too wide internal for less than 35mm tires, IMO. People running 28s or 30s having blowoffs in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Hello there Mr Farsports. Advertising again I see.
I'm with ya! I have multiple sets of farsports wheels BTW =) never had an issue and they're great.
Which exact model are they from farsports/wheelsfar? I can't seem to find the exact rim that matches the depth and width of the no.6. $1500 is a little steep for me so it's great to have a cheaper option straight from the source!
I've never used WheelsFar to order custom Far Sports wheels before, but I had heard it mentioned several times. This thread was the final straw, as I had seen the GC Performance Review, along with the wheel price, and once again I heard I could get the same for much less! So I had a browse. I couldn't quite find what I was looking for, so I registered on the web site, as I thought that might give me access to additional pages etc. It didn't, but within a few hours I got an email from someone called Emma at FarSports, asking if I had found what I needed. I was just browsing really, but I thought 'what the heck' and specced out what I was after, since she had asked! I emailed over my requirements (I actually wanted a wide rear gravel rim too) and got back two examples configs with prices. I had forgotten to mention I wanted XDR hubs, mailed that back, hopped in the shower and by the time I got out, I had another reply. I have gone back and forth a few times to tweak the spec. I was dead impressed with the customer service. So much so that I'm about to place an order. I am really just posting this to say that if you've been wondering about buying a custom Chinese wheelset, I would certainly give them a go - I was very pleasantly surprised. I've put the two quotes I was given below. As toxin said, you could get similar wheels for cheaper. Alternatively, you could get higher spec wheels for the same price. It certainly opened my eyes to some extra options!
