Personally I've used continental 4000S2, 5000, 5000 S TR, and had a very hard time mentally going to another brand because of my familiarity and comfort. I bought my pair before the test above was published and immediately noticed a slight improvement to ride quality and a slightly narrower (1mm) measured width on the same rim compared to my outgoing Transparent S TR.
The testing above seems pretty good to me: marginally slower than the S TR (much closer than the old Race TLR/SL) while offering a meaningful improvement in puncture protection and grip. Like them so much I got myself a spare pair as well as one for my buddy's S5. I have 4 of the 28mm that I will weigh later and post weights but the ones I installed measured 290 and 295g
I know some have mentioned difference in handling feel between the more round Continentals and the more pointed Pirelli but I honestly can't feel it really see much of a difference, but they did measure up 1mm apart which may change the perceived shape since Pirelli is narrower.
Seems like a good alternative to Conti S TR, Corsa Pro, Tufo Comtura, Michelin Power Cup, and others. Not as fast as some of the "race day" offerings like TT TR or Enve but more stout for daily use

I recently got my friend (and a member here) an S TR and TT TR combo in 28mm. The S TR weighed in 285g, BRRs weight on those is lower than any of the S TR I've weighed myself (just based on 3 of them). The TT TR I weighed was what BRR weighed the S TR at

Corsa pro speed. Schwalbe pro-one TT yes. Maybe Enve and TTTR a little, but not overly so. Hell even the PowerCups are holding up for me.cleanneon98 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 9:20 pmThose are sacrificing everyday usability for added speed, and if we go that route they're still a way off the fastest tires BRR tested
Maybe I should have been a bit more deliberate in my title, edited.

It's good to have more choices. Power cups are great but the whole "best used with narrow rims" thing scared me off. Maybe it's not a big issue but having that in my head I would always second guess myself cornering, while the Pirelli offer exceptional grip and even though I will never come close to the limit it's just reassuringspdntrxi wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2024 12:04 amCorsa pro speed. 2k miles between the 2 sets of rims I use them all.. one with 23 IW and the other with 22.4IW. So far so good. Lots of crit miles toocleanneon98 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2024 12:35 amIt's good to have more choices. Power cups are great but the whole "best used with narrow rims" thing scared me off. go try Pro-one TT and get back to me.
I have 800miles on my race-days and only 1 puncture because I hit a large rock at 25mph+

It’s really splitting hairs between the GP5K TT TR, GP5K S TR, SES Racedays and P Zero Race RS. I would happily race on any of them.
30 grams per tire is quite much. With 50-60 ml of sealant it makes quite a big difference compared to a standard tire + TPU which is still quite popular set among my buddies.
I just measured my brand new 5000 S TR 28 and it's 275 grams. But my Contis are about to be replaced so maybe I will try the new Pirelli.

It all depends on what the intended usage of the tire is. For a training tire, I won't revert to the Enve Racedays given that they are just a bit fragile if the roads are bad. For a training tire the old P Zero TLR's are absolute perfect. They're rock solid, pretty comfy, good grip. Bit overweight, bit slower, but how important is that for your training?
I'll try the new RS next to see what that's like. Might be a good training tire too if they retained the qualities of the old TLR. The conti's I won't use anymore, they don't give me the same nice cushioned ride feeling.
