Any reason to go with the wire over a normal hose clamp?Mr.Gib wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 6:13 amLube and stuff the end of the Hirame into the fresh cut end of the pump hose. DON'T use one of those ridiculous sharp edged screw hose clamp things to secure it. Instead, get some fine bendable wire and wrap around in a couple of places, twist with plyers, trim and fold the excess smooth against the hose. Than cover with a couple wraps of tape. Sleek, smooth finish, and no hand lacerations
I have some suitable wire as you describe but I just feel like it'd cut into the rubber if twisted too much.
Anything particular to lube with? Silicon based thin grease or something? Or just water?

When are they scheduled to be available?
hirame didn't work with fillmores. well it was a great way to express all the air out of my tyre. love amazon, free returns!
Edit: I lied. Just pushed it on too far oops. Work's fine with fillmores.
So much easier to use than the topeak pump heads. Topeak ones always hurt my fingers

Any pump head can do it for me easily with presta or reserve filmore. The highest pressure I use nos is 5.5 bar.AJS914 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 12:45 amThe Hirame pump head changed my life forever, at least my cycling life. Could have been a different story 10 years ago when going over 8 bar was difficult without holding pumphead while pushing the pump at the sale time.

I notice these are now available to purchase. Tempted to give them a go.
Where are you seeing them available? Google is giving me nothing :/gloscherrybomb wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 1:12 pmI notice these are now available to purchase. Tempted to give them a go.
something I appreciate about this system - they make it economically feasible to outft your entire fleet (assuming they truly are better than presta). According to Schwalbe's site, you can get two valve cores and a pump head for < $20.
As opposed to others who want to separate you from $50 per bike, just for valve stems. I've got about 7 bikes to keep working, and I'm not dropping $350+ to make it happen.
