If it more comfy it does it mean it is less stiff than Bontrager

Good Morning,

the wheels are are available for about 2-3 month 🧐 right now. So there might be not so many "long term experience" regarding the hubs/ bearings I think or does anyone already used them 5000km + ?

Nope, they feel fine after circa 3000km. Will see how they deal with crappier weather

I have about 5,000km on mine and have been riding through quite some shitstorms as well.
Bearings are going as new, but admittedly I don't really think this reflects any special qualities after just two months of riding. For bearing life it is much worse when only riding once in a while, putting the bike away when wet in hot cellar or anything, not when using it on a daily basis.
I will swap the bearings to CS Coated ones next week or the week after and can then judge on the condition of the removed bearings.

Just for the record: The rear rim of the A.54 accumulated tons of water during a super rainy ride. It has a drain hole on the side but I never had such an amount of water on any wheel ever. The front did not have a single drop at the same time. Managed to remove the water through the drain hole on the side of the rim without removing tire or tape.

How easy is it to change the freehub from SRAM to Shimano? My local dealer has the SRAM rear wheel available at a decent price, but I need a Shimano one.

Just pull off endcap and driver and push on the new one. The endcaps are tight though so might need pliers and a rag.

Inside
And to be more specific:
You need a hex key for the nipple, and a seperate spoke key to hold the aluminum fitting, that has the thread on it, of the spoke in place so it won't rotate and brake off.
hello, what hex key size is needed to adjust the internal nipple of vonoa spoke?

I assume the freehwheel on these is the standard Newmen road one and completely interchangable? No adapters?

Email reply from R2 who state this Shimano freewheel fits the new wheels:

"Hello Kurt,

thank you for your inquiry. The following freehub body is compatible with the wheel:

viele Grüße | best regards"

Are the rims painted matte or is it raw carbon?
It looks like matte paint, doesn't it?
How does it behave in long-term use? Does it catch a lot of scratches?
