I'll try over the next day or two. It's sounds much quieter coasting than hearing it in your garage though

THANK YOU! I'd abandoned all hope of seeing any profiles straight from newmen. They're pretty unremarkable, though not neccessarily in a bad way. Blunter fronts for stability and sharper rears for speed. Hook area quite similar to reserve. Not exactly what I'd prefer, but they're good.

That's similar to what my reaction was. Very reserve-esque.
Doesn't put me off considering them as an option, just reinforces the feeling that most wheels perform pretty damn similar despite their profiles.
Makes me wish Bontrager would modernise their RSL 62s to have lower count of carbon spokes with lighter hubs. That would be a pretty nice combo!

i have just ordered the rear streem vonoa climb 38mm. it is on the way. the front wheel is still unavailable and i have to wait for it.

just got the rear streem vonoa climbing 38mm. i'm waiting for the front one when it will be available. i share with you a first look.

• incredible weight: just 594gr
  very thin spokes: 2mm in the head/end and less than 1mm in the middle.exactly as a cx-ray
  internal width of 22,5mm
  very quiet freewheel
  the wheel is assembled screwing the spokes in the hub and tensioning them with internal nipples,
  the wheel arrive with a tubolito tube with short schrader valve, a standard valve rim-adapter, and a closing cap if you use the short internal schrader Tube/valve.
  the right bearing is a little exposed. a closed cap would have been better

I posted the sound on YouTube (https://youtube.com/shorts/SA7_67LalgA? ... PZRZ8a13JC).

The first is the Newmen and the second is the DT Swiss 180 in my Roval rapides. Both were done about a foot away from my phone. I spun up the Newmens faster since it was on the bike and the rovals I did by hand.

I still think this isn't the best representation since when you're out riding it sounds much quieter than in my garage.

Schrader valve? So the hole in the rim bed is also larger diameter? Does it not work with most tubeless valves then?

The difference is noticeable 40dB vs 45dB of course it's only phone measurement, but quiet in my room is 34dB

Hi to all,
Long time reader first time poster.
I own Newmen Allround wheelset - they replaced Bontrager RSL 51 so the wheels with similar internal width and what supriced me the most was the better comfort of Newmen's, same tires ( Tufo Endurance 7R 28 mm ) same pressure , same bike. I was very sceptical re carbon spokes but it seems not ther case.
Tires measure 32 mm so they are almost flush with the rim.
Re the valve holes - wheels came with plugs - one to use with aero valve and one to use with standard presta tube/ tubeless valves.
I was also concerned about the endcap not covering the bearing so after a bit of research I found the solution - you need Newmen part no 90718 - endcaps for MTB driver:

You need to replace only driver body endcap - I did it for XDR body but it should work for shimano drive body as well.
To sum up at the moment I'm very happy with the wheels , done circa 1000 km , really allround wheels .
