It seems Newmen have updated their rims to be wider and lighter. Given the data I'd call these competitively priced at €1690 for the set. I like the Lightweight-esque look as well.

Had these been around earlier I might have gone for them over my Fulcrum Speed 57s...

The new setup does not look bad, but would still prefer Farsport wheels anyday. Especially setup with carbon spokes on their Wheelsfar site, where you choose your own custom setup.

I have Newman Streem 50 that came witth my Cube Litening AIR, and while they are OK, they cannot match Farsport Hyper wheels with carbon spokes setup. And that price is under 1.000 EUR. So will be selling the Newman wheels.

I have 3 of their wheels. My newest wheels are 40mm deep, 24int/30ext, and weight 1.135g. Perfect for 28mm tyres and hilly rides.

I'm pretty sure wheels that came on your Cube are not yet the new generation Newmen. Personally I don't buy direct from China articles without proper warranty but you do you.

The specs look good. It seems they use wide spokes similar to Craft Racing Wheels so they can use fewer of them (not typical 21/21 setup). They might be more aero and comfortable. There is not much info about hubs and availability.

Personally I would also avoid unknown Chinese brand, but not well known brand such as Farsport. China is 1.400.000.000 market, and we think they all ride crappy wheels!!! :D

They also have decent warranty, and what is even more important, good customer service. If I have any questions, I get respond within the same day. Not as with western brands, where you need to wait a week. Also +100 all positive reviews on WW is also very important.

We all just do not see it yet, that Chinese brands are couple of years ahead in development, just like in most other areas as well. And now these things are coming to western brand, but at much more cost. And Newmans are not that much more expensive. We have way higher prices with other brands.

Sprint wheels are very competitive, 1355 grams for 60/66mm wheelset is pretty good, price is competitive with CRW Works. Should be very aero too due to low number of spokes.

I just wish these wheels were available in paintless glossy finish

Is Newmen Cube's inhouse brand or totally independent? Thanks.
It will be interesting to know what kind of hubs they use. Their mtb hubs were very light but not as realiable as DT Swiss.

As far as I could find there's no connection. Company names have been taken from the "imprint" section of their respective websites.

Mmm the rim profiles are either too shallow or too deep for me. There should be something between their climbing and all round (or make the all round slightly shallower).

According to R2-bike description there is no ratchet inside but pawl mechanism. Why does anybody still use it?:)
But I am really tempted. It stands from the carbon spoke crowd with their wider spokes and only 15/18 of them instead of 20 or 21. It might make them stiff and comfortable if using the same technology as CRW.

58mm, 24int/30ext, 1.292g, hooked, also glossy finish, for way less money ;)

Yes, I'm aware of Farsports and I'd trust their hubs over Newmen's hub, but Hypers are not available in 60+ mm depth. Also, 15 spokes at the front vs 20 is quite a difference
Trust their hubs over Newmen? Wut. The newmen road / mtb hubs are excellent - also made in Germany. Dunno if these hubs are their own design or ODM from TW / China tho.

Not sure about current generation but when I asked my lbs who were selling them about Newmen wheels they admitted they had many realiability issues (specifically mtb hubs). Maybe things have improved.

Man the specs are awesome. I love allrounds. But the climbing ones are so light!
