Making the airtight layer out of TPU for improved Crr, air retention and weight + the flat prevention / puncture sealing of tubeless? This has me actually excited.

Looking forward to the first reviews. I hope they will use the TPU with the gravel tyres too in the future.

Hopefully there will be an compound / edition similar to P Zero Race 4S. More wet grip plssssss.

Agreed. The article doesn't mention whether this is a specific TT tyre or a more practical one that can be used daily. A practical tyre at that weight would be a game changer.

Based on the weight, I'm inclined that it's a TT tyre. The weight difference between a clincher P1 and P1 TLE is only 20 g (both 25c). I don't think anyone can reduce 100 g by replacing the butyl layer with the TPU layer, but without reducing the rubber thickness/protector layer.

Very interesting tire. Low weight and material choice probably result in very low thickness overall and need for higher pressure. This alone would make it difficult for sealant to repair punctures. The use TPU material adds another challenge, as it doesn't really work with standard sealants. Curious how they solved all this.

Er, it should work with standard sealants because the casing and tread will still be fairly rigid vulcanized rubber.

Is this basically a Tufo Tubular Type tyre that has a TPU baked in instead of butyl but made for tubeless rims? I mean Tufo is quite light too.

Are you asking if two tires that have almost nothing in common are basically the same?

If sealant can seal the tires and it's an all round tire like regular pro one I'm in. If it's a tire for a TT not interested.

Not a tubular and not butyl, they are both bike tires :noidea:

All the Schwalbe pros at Challenge Roth raced on these tires on Sunday, I think. They all had the thin blue line along the rim. The few I looked at closely were labeled Pro One TT.

I didn't see any of them flat, either.

Supposedly they won’t be out for a year or so.

BikeRumor says it's tube type only, not tubeless.

Though makes no sense since there's no need for a TPU layer in the construction of a regular clincher and it doesn't have any other desirable properties like tensile strength or function like an aramid protection layer. BikeRadar claims to have talked to Schwalbe and confirmed that it is a tubeless tire.
